To err is human and to forgive divine, according to the old adage, but humans who forgive are known to experience significant physical and mental health benefits from doing so.
Now researchers report that these beneficial health effects appear to vary by age, along with the willingness to forgive others, the willingness to forgive oneself. "Taken together, our findings emphasize that forgiveness is a multidimensional phenomenon," write study lead author Dr. Loren L. Toussaint of the University of Michigan and colleagues. "There are age differences in some forms of forgiveness and in their relationship to health."
Their conclusions are based on survey responses from more than 1,400 adults during a 5-month study period.
In general, young adults (18-44 years) reported that they were less likely to forgiveothers than middle-aged (45-64) and older adults (65 and older).
Among survey participants of all ages, however, reports of forgiveness of themselves and others were associated with decreased psychological distress, including feelings of restlessness, hopelessness and nervousness.
Further, young adults who reported high levels of self-forgiveness were more likely to be satisfied with their lives, whereas middle age and older adults who reported high levels of forgiveness of others were more likely to report increased lifesatisfaction.
In other findings, attendance at religious services was associated with decreased psychological distress, particularly among young and middle-aged adults, and increased life satisfaction among young and old adults. Service attendance was also associated with higher self-rated health among all age groups.

Time flies. Unconsciously, another Double Ninth Festival is coming. The Double Ninth Festival in 1999 represents eternity, respect, and love for the elderly. Its nothing more than beating the back, pushing the waist, or helping to do some housework for the elderly. In addition to these, Grandpa and grandma wont let us do anything again. Usually, the old people always love us most. If you cant bear to eat, leave it to us; If you have a good drink, leave it to us if you dont want to drink; I have never seen my grandparents often add new clothes to themselves, but use them to wear old clothes for their children; Ive never seen my grandparents very extravagant. They always save when they can, but they give us the rest of the money to buy snacks; I havent seen my grandparents pick me up from school one day. They often have to stand up even if they are ill. They dont let us worry at the school gate.
When the weather turns cold in autumn, my grandmother always asks me, "wear so little, is it cold?" at this time, I will turn my head impatiently and say, "its not cold." I cant help complaining that my grandmother is too wordy! Often I dont have time to listen to Grandpa finish this sentence, so I a sentence: "I know, I know!" I feel that listening to a sentence all day, my ears are about to hear the cocoon. In the final analysis, we should understand and respect the elderly. Think of an old man who doesnt want to be valued and respected by his younger generation? Although we cant have too much money and energy to give all the elderly a warm and comfortable home, we can start from the elderly around us and move them with our love bit by bit.

The Double Ninth Festival began to be observed in the Warring States Period. In the Han Dynasty,it was called Zhuyu Festival,or Chrysanthemum Festival as there was a custom of drinking chrysanthemum wine, eating colored cakes, and hanging an herb called zhuyu (comus officinalis) on the door.
The festival comes when the day is clear with sunny skies and crisp air—a favorable time for climbing mountains. So climbing is a popular activity to mark the day in many places. The custom of hanging zhuyu on the door and climbing mountains started in the Han Dynasty, which was endowed then with the significance of eliminating diseases and subjugating disasters. In the Tang Dynasty, the custom of climbing and appreciatingchrysanthemum became so widely spread as to be taken as the main activity on this occasion, and to these, there added other activities, such as going to the mountain fair, offering sacrifices at the ancestral graves, hunting outsides, worshipping the God of fortune, bounding girls feet.
Nowadays, the Double Ninth Festival day is fixed as the Elderly Day,on which activities are held to show respect and love to the elderly people.
Our class had already planned to go to Handian Nursing Home to visit those old people living there . We were all eager to go there as soon as we can. And today this time really came, so you could image how happy we were. At about 8:00 in the morning , with tools in hands, we went out of our school towards the Handian Nursing Home
It was about 9:00 when we arrived there. Though we were a little tired, none of us wanted to have a rest. As some of those old people seldom came out, so some of us helped them walk around to breathe the fresh air. Some help them to wash their clothes, and the others swept the ground. Most of us never do such things at home, so we maybe didn’t do these well, but we all tried our best. At about 11:55,we had lunch with them, and our monitor stood for us to bless them devoutly. During the lunch time, we were all very happy. After lunch, we had a party with those old people. Before we came here, we had already prepared some songs for them. As we expected, they all felt great pleased with our programs. Though maybe we didn’t performed well, the smile on their faces made us very happy.
Happy time always goes fast. Though we didn’t notice that we had stayed here for a long time, the clock on the wall informed us clearly that it was time for us to go home. So we had to say good bye to those old people. On the way home, we all said this was really a significant day, and we decided to come back again whenever we had time.
The 10th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. It usually falls in October in the Gregorian calendar. In an ancient and mysterious book Yi Jing, or The Book of Changes, number "6" was thought to be of Yin character, meaning feminine or negative, while number "9" was thought to be Yang, meaning masculine or positive. So the number nine in both month and day create the Double Ninth Festival, or Chongyang Festival. Chong in Chinese means "double." Also, as double ninth was pronounced the same as the word to signify "forever", both are "Jiu Jiu," the Chinese ancestors considered it an auspicious day worth celebration. Thats why ancient Chinese began to celebrate this festival long time ago.
The custom of ascending a height to avoid epidemics was passed down from long time ago. Therefore, the Double Ninth Festival is also called "Height Ascending Festival". The height people will reach is usually a mountain or a tower. Ancient literary figures have left many poems depicting the activity. Even today, people still swarm to famous or little known mountains on this day.

The ninth day of the ninth lunar month is the Chong Yang Festival, a traditional festival in China. The celebrating activities are various and romantic ,including climbing mountains , appreciating chrysanthemums , wearing dogwoods , eating the Chong Yang cake and so on . “Nine” has the same pronunciation as the Chinese character “jiu” which stands for ”a long time” , and is the biggest single figure . Therefore it indicts longevity. There have been a lot of poems and works celebrating Chong Yang Festival and praising chrysanthemums since ancient times. People also believe that climbing mountains can expel bad luck, and indicates “climbing to a higher position” and “l(fā)ongevity”. China designates the ninth day of the ninth month as Senior ‘s Day , which combine tradition with modern times subtly to turn it into a festival for respecting , caring about , loving , and helping the elderly people .

I cried in surprise“ It seems that we have to celebrate the festival for our grandparents today. " I thought. So I ran downstairs and saw my grandparents still awake. I thought: I have to show my skills today. I have to buy food for my grandparents. Now its time to buy dinner. I have to "lose weight" for my wallet. However, its good because my grandparents dont have to cook. I went out of the house with my wallet and bought a lot of food. Hey! Wallet "lose weight" succeeded! Grandpa and grandma woke up and were very happy to see all the food on the table. After a while, they ate up all the food on the table“ Grandpa and grandma, today is the Double Ninth Festival. Let me take you out for a walk. " I invited with a smile. Grandpa and grandma immediately smiled and looked like two chrysanthemums blooming on their faces. Ill take my grandparents to the brook to eat cakes first.
Next, we went to a big tree. There were a few birds chirping on the tree, as if they were singing the autumn hymn, and many flowers were blooming next to them
Grandpa and grandma feel very happy among flowers, trees and small animals.
On this day, my grandparents had a very happy Double Ninth Festival. Its really a beautiful Double Ninth Festival!
During the Double Ninth Festival, I made an appointment with my two good friends to climb Wuzhi Mountain. The weather was particularly good that day. There was an occasional breeze on the mountain. It was very cool!
Soon we came to the foot of Wuzhi Mountain. What I had been looking forward to was Wuzhi Mountain. Standing at the foot of the mountain, I can see that the trees on the top of the mountain are lush, and there are all kinds of shrubs on the hillside, some yellow, some red and some dark... Its really colorful and beautiful!
When everyone was ready to climb up, my mother shouted, "stop! Children, wait a minute. Lets play! " Everyone said in unison, "OK, how can we compare?" Mother said, "we are divided into two groups, adults and children. I can climb only when I shout at the beginning."
The game began. We rushed up like an arrow off the string. In a few minutes, we were sweating. We were too tired. We felt like we couldnt walk with a big stone tied to our legs. At this time, my mother caught up and said, "you cant climb too hard. Its endurance, otherwise you wont be able to climb soon." After listening to moms words, we slowed down and climbed the mountain at a uniform speed. Before long, we easily climbed to the top of the mountain and left adults behind. We stood on the top of the mountain and shouted happily, "we won. Come up quickly. The scenery above is more beautiful!" Everyone cheered up and continued to climb to the top of the mountain.
In ancient times, when it came to the Double Ninth Festival, the ancients would climb high and look far and a dogwood in their waist. Although I dont know what dogwood is, I got a handful of your Dogtail grass pinned to their waist, ha ha!
Climbing mountains on the Double Ninth Festival is both happy and meaningful, because climbing mountains can not only help us strengthen our body, but also exercise our endurance. It was a happy and meaningful day!

This morning, I casually looked at the calendar. Eh, September 9th? Double Ninth Festival? My heart beat for a while, and grandmas figure flashed in my mind. I realized that I had to do something for grandma right now!
Grandma sent me to school every day, rain or shine, whether its summer or winter, never stop. Well, I must repay her well. But what can I give her? I scratched my ears and scratched my cheek. After thinking for a long time, I suddenly got a brainstorming. Otherwise, I would like to bless her. Do as you say, I am full of affection, and I dont hesitate to say to grandma, "grandma..." when I get to the mouth, I cant say anything. I feel very shy and dont want to say it again.
Until dinner at night, I put the hidden in my heart, prepared for a long time to say that. "Grandma "
"What is it?" She asked, puzzled.
"I wish you a happy double ninth day, good health and a long life!"
Thank you. Grandma froze for a moment and smiled happily.
During the meal, grandma kept picking out the dishes for me. So grandma is very happy.
When I went to bed at night, I didnt immediately fall asleep as usual. I vaguely heard my father and grandmother whispering in the living room: "this child is growing up and more sensible."
It turns out that double ninth cake and flowers are not necessary gifts for Double Ninth Festival. Sometimes, to repay the kindness of parents and elders, a simple blessing is enough to make the heart connected.

In the evening of tranquility, I stood alone under a tree beside the avenue, and the sun slipped down, and crumpled through the fallen leaves, and cast a light in my eyes. And I was not able to get warm from that light, and feel that there is a bleak from the bone marrow. To see that the leaves of the leaves Guanghua no longer, even in this warm wind is also shivering cold, can not hold to fall down, like butterflies beautiful dance, and then attributed to loneliness. Wrap away, I feel like the abandoned and forgotten leaves, distant friends, in this distant city to breathe strange air, chewing thoughts of bitter fruit.
Out of the window, bursts of autumn winds, I once again looked up to see those flying in the air dead leaves. Suddenly feel that they are like a natural letterhead, and love is a passage of the world stamps, dead leaves exhausted the last life burned into a ray of brilliant, to countless off relatives and friends to send warmth and blessing, let the world no longer alone. The original as long as the heart of India, the distance will never block the truth; in fact, as long as the truth forever, End of the World but also close proximity.

Then pour half a cup of hot water into the cup, shake cup, and wait for the water to become a little yellowish, pour out the water and fill a cup of hot water. Gradually, the tea began to float and sink slowly. The tea dolls are so naughty that some of them float in the middle of the glass, some of them rise up in the air and play in the air, and there is a sound asleep at the bottom of the cup! The water in the cup is a bit yellow. I waited for a moment, and the tea had turned red, and then a smell came into my nose.

The double ninth festival is coming soon. The teacher asked us to help our grandpa, grandma, grandpa, grandma or some lonely old man to do something on Sunday. I started to act.
On Sunday, I got up early, and after I had finished my homework, I began to think: who can help? Suddenly, mother came up with a good idea. "We can sweep the stairs for grandpa and grandma next door," the mother said excitedly. I immediately agreed with my mother. I picked up the broom and began to sweep the stairs. My mother said, "when you sweep the stairs, people will stand on it and sweep it." I did what my mother said, and it was not easy to sweep the stairs clean. Mother brought a bucket of water. What did I ask my mother? Mother said: "after cleaning, you need to flush it clean." So the mother spilled a bucket of water on the stairs and watched the water roll from the first steps of the stairs to the second order, from the second to the third... Its like a waterfall. Its beautiful.
In the afternoon, the water on the stairs was dry, and I think the grandpa and grandma in the next door would see it. I must be very happy to see the clean staircase.
