英語(yǔ)六級(jí)作文:人口老齡化 1
Population officials and demographers have much to worry about China’s increasingly aging population. It is estimated that the proportion of people aged 60 or older in China will rise to 11.8 percent in 2020. By the middle of this century, people aged beyond 60 will take up 27.4 percent of the total population - that means one out of every four people will be senior!
The aging population poses a serious challenge to families and the society. On the one hand, with families becoming smaller and living pace escalating, it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. On the other hand, aging causes a relative decline in working force. Consequently, the productivity of the whole society will be affected to some extent.
The rapidity of the population’s aging has made it more urgent for the adoption of countermeasures. There is no doubt that the key is to build a solid economic foundation. Meanwhile, importance should be attached to overall social progress by changing the backward situation in social security, welfare and service. What’s more, family care and community-based services should also be encouraged.

The problem of old age is known as one of the most serious problem in today's world. The old people can be seen everywhere. As is shown in the graph, the number of people in the world over the age of sixty will have increased to 600 million by the end of this century. And by the time, there will also be twice as many people over the age of eighty. In the ten years between 1970 and 1980, there was a 23.7% increase in the number of people aged over sixty-five in the industrial world, and an even bigger increase of 38.2% in the developing world.
With the development of economy, the rise in people's living standards and the improvement of medical conditions, people are living longer and longer. Furthermore, birth rates are falling as the pace of population growth slows down. As a result, the number of old people in the world is experiencing an increase. Though the increase will cause manifold social and economic consequences, we can take effective measures to deal with it. So I believe a bright tomorrow for old people will be achieved through efforts of every person.

As is indicated in the diagram, in the decades to come, the proportion of people over 60 years old in China will rise from ten percent to thirty percent. That's to say, ageing population will increase by three times. The degree of aging is growing severely.
There are two reasons for it. One is our longer life, and another is family planning policy. These brought about the decline of newly born population and the increase of aging population.
The aging population brings a serious challenge to families and the society. On the one hand, the family's living pressure will be increased. On the other hand,to society,it isn't conducive to the development of China's economy and the rise of public happiness.
As for me,the aging population is unavoidable, but we can reduce its negative impact. Our government is supposed to constitute relevant policies to adjust the times. What's more,we should take more care of the elderly and let them live a harmonious and nice life.

Nowadays, aging people has occupied a large percent of popularity. At the same time, it still shows a tendency of rising gradually. We name this situation “aging society”. Aging society’s coming pressed the whole society a lot. Just the olds’ pension is a great trouble to our government.
It’s time to take measures to coping with this issue and make all the olds live a happy and healthy life. I think government or the communities should build more hospitals or clinics to keep the olds physically healthy as well as more activity centers providing a positive atmosphere to keep them mentally healthy. Furthermore, government should be more considerate, instead of putting off the retirement age because it can’t solve the problem .I think it’s time to allow people have the second child. So at a average, 1 adult only have to take care of 1 old person. As a result, Family can take on more responsibility by themselves without society’s help. But in my own opinion, government hasn’t be responsible enough.

Nowadays, the problem of aging population is becoming much more serious in China. In addition, the amount of empty nesters is increasing rapidly. There are several reasons that caused the phenomenon of empty nesters. First of all, there are more opportunities in the urban areas, young people from the rural areas tend to leave their hometown and settle in the cities. As a result, their aging parents have to live alone. Secondly, facing too much pressure from work and life, young people actually have little time to look after their parents. They have to work day and night before getting paid, and the amount of holiday to rest is quite limited. Thus, the elders become empty-nested. To solve this social problem effectively, both the governments and the whole society should take measures. For the governments, they should emphasize the importance of caring parents by utilizing the popular social media such as WeChat and Weibo, thereby improving our awareness. For the whole society, more volunteers should be gathered in order to look after those empty nesters. By these methods, the problem of empty nesters should be solved gradually.

america is growing older. fifty years ago, only 4 out of every 100 people in the united states were 65 or older. today, 10 out of every ]00 americans are over 65. the aging of the population will affect american society in many ways - education, medicine, and business. the graying of america has made us a very different society ---one in which people have a quite different idea of what kind of behavior is suitable at various ages.
a persons age no longer tells you anything about his or her social position, marriage or health. theres no longer a particular year in which one goes to school or goes to work or gets married or starts a family. the social clock that kept us on time and told us when to go to school, get a job, or stop working isnt as strong as it used to be. it doesnt surprise us to hear of a 29-year-old university president or a 35-year- old grandmother,or a 70-year-old man who has become a father for the first time. public ideas are changing.
many people say,"l am much younger than my mother or my father was at my age." no one says anymore," act your age." weve stopped looking with surprise at older people who act in youthful ways.

The line chart depicts that the percentage of those aged over 60 increased moderately from 6% of the total population in 1990 to 15% in 2010 in China. It is predicted that the proportion will amount to 25% in 2020 and 30% in 2040.
Quite a few factors can account for this phenomenon, but the following might be the critical ones: for one thing, with the implementation of China's family planning policy and the improvement of people's living standard, fewer and fewer people are willing to have more children. Therefore, the birth rate has dramatically dropped, which results in a low proportion of youngsters and a higher proportion of elders. For another, due to the fact that more hospitals are equipped with advanced medical instruments and more professional staffs, many incurable diseases now can be easily cured. As a result, the public can enjoy an increased life span, adding to the growing proportion of old people.
The aging of the population is also a result of social progress and economic development. However, this phenomenon will be likely to bring about some undesirable consequences in the future. Hence it is high time that we figured out some ways to face the up-coming challenges.

Many countries will experience aging populations in the next century because of declining birth and mortality rates. China will soon join their ranks.
As for the issue of aging, its situation has been growing increasingly severe in spite of the fact most people are still ignorant of the problems it brings about. Firstly, with families becoming smaller and living pace escalating, it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. Secondly, aging causes a relative decline in working force in that fewer people have to support the increasing aged people. Consequently, the productivity of the whole society is affected to some extent. Thirdly and most importantly, the aging of population in China resulted from the successful implementation of family planning has not been synchronized with national economic progress.
The rapidity of the population's aging has made it more urgent for the adoption of countermeasures. No doubt they key is to build a solid economic foundation. Meanwhile, importance shall be attached to overall social progress by changing the backward situation in social security, welfare and service. What's more, family care and community services shall also be encouraged.

Population ageing has emerged as a global phenomenon in the wake of the now virtually universal decline in fertility and increases in life expectancy. Many countries are confronted with new demographic realities that spread from the cities to the villages. In my opinion, more problems than benefits will surface with this trend.
Population ageing, however, brings about serious economic and social problems. When the number of workers decreases, the national income goes down. At the same time, as a person's use of health services increases significantly in the later years of their life, an ageing population causes a relative rise in the public resources required for pensions, health and residential care outlays.
To sum up, population ageing is an inevitable prospect, the negative effects of which outweigh the positive. As ageing is a normal part of lifecycle for human beings, we must recognize its challenges to our life and society, and work on effective strategies to minimize its adverse influences.

From these graphs, we can draw a conclusion that, with the growth of human population, the number of species has decreased rapidly in America, and some species have even vanished from our planet.
Why does this phenomenon appear? There are several possible reasons for this. Above all, as the human population grows rapidly, a growing number of people came to live where some wild species have been living. Then these species have to move to other places. Some of them probably can not adapt to the new environment and die. In addition, although many people look on the wildlife as their friends, some people may not think so. They catch a lot of wild animals and sell them in order to get more money. Even worse/More importantly, as the result /consequence of the industry, the natural balance and the ecologic environment are destroyed. The clear cutting has become increasingly serious. So some of the wildlife become homeless and extinct.
In order to protect the wildlife, I have some suggestions. First, the governments should make laws to prevent them from being caught and killed. Second, the governments should educate people to love nature and protect it. Third, as for ourselves, we should take practical actions to protect our living environment.

Progress in science and the improvement of living conditions have led to the rapid growth of the world population. Modern medicine, for example, has made it possible for babies to grow up healthily and for people to live longer. With improved living conditions, particularly in the countryside, people tend to have larger families. As a result, the world population has increased so rapidly that it has now exceeded 6 billion. But the overgrowth of population presents a threat to the existence of human society. A large population demands a GREat deal of food supply and shelter space. However, limited productivity and scarce world resources can hardly meet the needs of the ever-increasing population. Thus, in the long run, the overgrowth of the world population will only harm mankind.
To guarantee the steady development of human society, mankind must realize the consequences resulting from fast population growth and carry out a family planning programme. Only by adopting effective measures, can human society develop steadily and have a bright future.

Traffic problems have become one of the major problems in cities. Streets are always crowed with vehicles and pedestrains, especially in rush hours. What is more, traffic accidents have made streets become one of the most dangerous places. But why is this problem becoming more and more serious in spite of the continuous improvement of traffic facilities?
The rapid increasing population is a goot explanation of the answer. More people means heavier traffic. Moreover, because more space has to be used to meet the needs of the housing problem, it is almost impossible to widen the streets, which makes the situ ation even worse. Then, how can we solve this problem?
More measures should be taken to deal with this problem. For example, rigid rules and regulations of rewards and penalties should be established to make people more careful on the streets, in addition, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice.

To begin with, as the population grows, people consume much more natural resources, which often leads to excessive hunting. Second, with the increase of human activities, modern people take up more and more space. Which has a great impact on other species. Finally, the problem of pollution becomes more and more serious with the development of modern industry. More and more animals have to adapt themselves to the decaying environment or move to a totally different place, but not all of them are fortunate enough to survive the changes.
Solving this problem calls for, above all, the government’s efforts to control population growth, to decrease industrial pollution and to enhance the laws to forbid wildlife hunting. Moreover, common citizens should be aware of this ecological crisis and take on the responsibility of wildlife protection. In a word, only when the government and the common people make joint e f forts can we hope to find a satisfactory solution to this problem.

It has been estimated that a thousand years ago there were less than 400 million people on earth. Today, however, the world's population has amounted to 5,000 million. What is worse, it keeps growing at a surprising speed. If this trend continues, the world's population will shoot up to 7,000 million by the year 2000. This is what we call population explosion.
The rapid development of science and technology is the main cause of population explosion. We can see that the population has been growing at a tremendous speed since the Industrial and Agriculture Revolution in 1650, which raised the people's standard of living, and the emergence of modern medicine in 1550, which lowered the people's death rate.
Population explosion will result in a lot of such problems as food shortage, housing shortage and unemployment. It is time that we acted quickly to carry out the policy of birth control otherwise, man's survival on the earth will be threatened.

Entering the 21st century, people now enjoy more prosperity and social progress.
However, at the same time, it is undeniable that a very serious problem is drawing more and more attention, that is, the aging population.
Many factors contribute to this phenomenon.
Firstly, modern medicine has made it possible for people to kill many deadly diseases and thus live longer.
Secondly, with the improved living conditions, people lead a stable and trouble-free life.
As a result, aging population is growing in China.
Therefore, many unexpected impacts have been laid on the society, for instance, the consuming structure is badly influenced, and the welfare pension and healthcare of the aging population become a heavy burden for governments at different levels.
In my opinion, we should try our best to guarantee the stable life of people, and governments should launch proper projects to protect the rights of senior citizens.
Only by carrying out effective measures can the senior citizens peacefully enjoy their aging life.
英語(yǔ)六級(jí)作文:人口老齡化 16
Population expansion is one of the most serious problems in the world. With better hygienic conditions and better medical care, fewer babies die today. But the birth rate remains unchanged. Moreover, the death rate has been lowered considerably by various kinds of progress. People generally live longer than they used to. All these contribute to a series of problem: shortage of national resources and food supply crowded cities and high rate of unemployment.
To solve all these problems, we must take measures to control birth rate. The first important step is to educate people-to help them understand the advantages of small families. Another important measure is to raise people's living standards. When people full understand the consequences of population expansion, and when their standard of living is raised, the birth rate will decline without compulsion.
Though it is a difficult task, we should try in a thousand and one ways to carry out birth control If we fail to do so, the world will be too crowded to live in, and the natural resources will be used up. Then we will no longer survive on earth.

Nothing in today’s world is as big a problem as that of population. People begin to worry about the support capacity of the earth. And there might be only standing room for each person in the future.
Lima’s population was 5. 7 million in 1985 but it grew to 9. 1 million in 2000. Tianjin’s was 7.9 million in 1985. In 2000, it boosted to 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo see a faster population explosion. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. In 2000 it turned into 20.2 million. Mexic city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but in 2000, its population reached 25.8 million!
What does the population growth mean? It means greater and greater consumption and greater pressure for the earth. If more people are added to the world population without our being alert or taking any action, we would have only standing room by the end of the 21st century.
Each government and the UN should see that population of each country and each city stops growing for the next fifty years.
