老雅在多年雅思寫作教學(xué)中，發(fā)現(xiàn)我們中國(guó)學(xué)生有一個(gè)非常嚴(yán)重的問(wèn)題，就是拿到題目后不知道從哪個(gè)方向入手思考，也不知道些什么，于是亂寫一氣，結(jié)果是邏輯混亂，甚至文不對(duì)題。一個(gè)來(lái)自學(xué)生的相當(dāng)經(jīng)典的問(wèn)題是這樣的：
老師你好，我是xx大學(xué)的學(xué)生，我發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在寫雅思作文的時(shí)候，沒(méi)有辦法做到深入思考和在論點(diǎn)之間建立合理的邏輯關(guān)系，請(qǐng)問(wèn)有什么方法可以解決這兩個(gè)問(wèn)題呢?有什么平時(shí)可以做的訓(xùn)練嗎?
無(wú)法深入思考，無(wú)法在論點(diǎn)之間建立邏輯聯(lián)系。這兩個(gè)問(wèn)題，你有木有?是不是困擾了你很多年?是不是讓你寫好這個(gè)作文，卻不知道下個(gè)作文能不能寫好?

1. 什么是“三大層次”理論?
所謂“三大層次”，指的是我們對(duì)任何一個(gè)話題，都可以從三個(gè)層次進(jìn)行思考和討論。這三個(gè)層次包括：物質(zhì)(physical)層次、心理(psychological)層次、社會(huì)(societal) 層次。其中：
物質(zhì)層次指的是與我們的身體、時(shí)間、空間、金錢/成本等相關(guān)的層次，這是一種比較淺顯的層次。比如看電視，從物質(zhì)層次上來(lái)講，壞處就是浪費(fèi)我們的時(shí)間、電費(fèi)(金錢)，還可能傷害我們的眼睛(身體)，但它的好處就是讓我們了解各種信息等。
心理層次指的是與我們心理、情感、精神等相關(guān)的層次，這是一種涉及到我們感情和思想的層次，比物質(zhì)層次要深入一些。比如看電視，從心理層次上講，壞處就是讓我們養(yǎng)成被動(dòng)接受信息不再自己思考的習(xí)慣，好處就是能陪伴我們度過(guò)空虛的時(shí)光等。
社會(huì)層次指的是與我們的環(huán)境、社會(huì)、文化、道德等相關(guān)的層次，這個(gè)層次相當(dāng)于脫離了與我們個(gè)人的關(guān)聯(lián)，而進(jìn)入到更宏大的社會(huì)之中，因此比心理層次顯得更高。比如看電視，從社會(huì)層次上講，壞處可能包括暴力節(jié)目引發(fā)犯罪、虛假?gòu)V告可能誤導(dǎo)消費(fèi)者等，好處就是購(gòu)買電視有利于促進(jìn)國(guó)家的經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展等。

實(shí)例1
Some people believe there are intelligent life forms existing on other planets and it is better to send messages to them, but others think it is a bad idea because it is very dangerous to do this. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
【好處】(1)外星人科技發(fā)達(dá)，可以學(xué)習(xí)他們的科技，讓地球人生活得更快樂(lè)(物質(zhì)層面);(2)和外星人聯(lián)系后，我們?cè)谶@個(gè)宇宙就不再孤獨(dú)(心理層面);(3)地球必將毀滅，聯(lián)系外星人將為地球人找到新的棲息地(社會(huì)層面)。
【壞處】(1)聯(lián)系外星人，需要投入巨大的人力物力(物質(zhì)層面);(2)聯(lián)系外星人，可能是一件非常危險(xiǎn)的事情(社會(huì)層面)。
【我的觀點(diǎn)】我認(rèn)為應(yīng)該努力與外星人溝通。首先，外星人若不及我們地球文明，那他們不會(huì)對(duì)我們構(gòu)成威脅，如果外星人比我們的文明更先進(jìn)，那么他們來(lái)破壞地球的可能性就更低，因此所謂威脅論或危險(xiǎn)論其實(shí)不存在;而與外星人溝通會(huì)讓我們找到其他星球的朋友，我們可以向他們學(xué)習(xí)，在地球終點(diǎn)到來(lái)之前，外星人甚至可能挽救我們。

In some countries, the criminal trials are shown on the TV and the general public can watch them. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
【好處】(1)看電視審判犯人，我們可以學(xué)到很多關(guān)于法律的知識(shí)(物質(zhì)層面);(2)電視審判犯人，可以讓觀眾內(nèi)心感到害怕，從而不敢犯罪(心理層面);(3)電視審判，關(guān)注面大，從而使審判顯得更加公正(社會(huì)層面)。
【壞處】(1)電視審判犯人，必定將犯罪細(xì)節(jié)公之于眾，這在某種程度上是在宣傳暴力(物質(zhì)層面);(2)因?yàn)橹酪娨暡シ�，法官和律師的注意力往往從案件審理轉(zhuǎn)移到電視作秀，不利于法律的正常實(shí)施(心理層面和社會(huì)層面)。
【我的觀點(diǎn)】作為公民，我們有權(quán)利知道犯人是如何得到審判的，因此我贊同電視審判犯人，但是電視審判中也要注意控制那些不宜播放的犯罪細(xì)節(jié)，并降低電視媒介對(duì)審判過(guò)程的不良影響。

Many towns and cities constructed in previous centuries are suitable for life at that time, and cause many problems today. Describe the problems it may cause and give the possible solution.
【物質(zhì)層次】衣食住行。過(guò)去不需要大型超市，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去不需要寬闊的街道，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去不需要地鐵和機(jī)場(chǎng)，現(xiàn)在需要。這些屬于物質(zhì)層次的范疇。
【心理層次】休閑娛樂(lè)。過(guò)去不需要高級(jí)電影院，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去不需要公共圖書館/博物館，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去不需要大型廣場(chǎng)，現(xiàn)在需要。這些屬于心理層次的范疇。
【社會(huì)層次】環(huán)境與社會(huì)。過(guò)去不需要區(qū)分居住區(qū)、工業(yè)區(qū)和商業(yè)區(qū)，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去(也許)不需要城市中心花園，現(xiàn)在需要;過(guò)去不需要廢品回收站，現(xiàn)在需要。這些屬于社會(huì)層次的`范疇。
3. “三大層次”理論使用的四大錦囊
老雅提出的“三大層次”理論可以幫助同學(xué)們迅速想出要寫的內(nèi)容，在一寸光陰一寸金的考場(chǎng)，能為你節(jié)約很多很多時(shí)間。但是，在具體操作過(guò)程中，老雅認(rèn)為同學(xué)們還應(yīng)注意幾點(diǎn)：
(1)一般的順序是由低到高層次寫作，這樣可以確保內(nèi)容的邏輯性。也就是說(shuō)，先寫物質(zhì)層次，然后心理層次，最后社會(huì)層次。
(2)不同話題，可能需要考慮不同層次的詳略。比如，某些話題可能在物質(zhì)層次上多寫，在社會(huì)層次略寫;另外的話題可能考慮社會(huì)層次更多，物質(zhì)層次一帶而過(guò)。這些都需要在寫作計(jì)劃的時(shí)候考慮清楚。
(3)究竟寫到哪個(gè)層次，或者在哪個(gè)層次多用力，還取決于你的英語(yǔ)水平高低。如果你對(duì)自己的英語(yǔ)水平比較自信，那就盡量考慮寫完三個(gè)層次，而且在社會(huì)層次上也不露怯;但如果你的英語(yǔ)水平還不夠好，那就盡量在物質(zhì)層次上多找?guī)讉�(gè)點(diǎn)寫下去，然后適當(dāng)寫點(diǎn)心理層次的內(nèi)容，社會(huì)層次就不要去寫，否則錯(cuò)誤就多，得分就低。老雅的具體建議是：爭(zhēng)取5分的同學(xué)，只寫物質(zhì)層面，內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)單，語(yǔ)言錯(cuò)誤也有望減少很多;爭(zhēng)取6分的同學(xué)，主要寫物質(zhì)層面，適當(dāng)簡(jiǎn)寫心理層面;爭(zhēng)取7分或以上的同學(xué)，物質(zhì)層面一筆帶過(guò)，以心理層面和社會(huì)層面為主 。
(4)老雅多年教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)告訴我，很多學(xué)生一拿到題目，首先想到的就是心理和社會(huì)層次的內(nèi)容，結(jié)果很難邏輯地寫下去。老雅的建議是，拿到任何題目，首先就想物質(zhì)層次，即使你想在心理和社會(huì)層次上用力，你也需要先簡(jiǎn)要論述物質(zhì)層次，然后以此為跳板，過(guò)度到另外兩個(gè)層次去，這樣的寫作才會(huì)顯得自然，獲得高分。
