The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. 英語短文閱讀的重要性不僅表現(xiàn)在高中英語考試中它的份量最大，而且還表現(xiàn)在英語短文是英語詞匯知識和語法知識的載體方面。詞匯量的擴(kuò)大、詞匯知識的豐富和句子表達(dá)的多樣性光靠死記硬背是無法也不可能實(shí)現(xiàn)的。擴(kuò)大詞匯量、豐富自己的詞匯知識和地道完美的表達(dá)自己只有依靠優(yōu)良的閱讀習(xí)慣。教材課文是精讀材料，需要同學(xué)們讀熟讀透，直至能開口娓娓道來為止。課外閱讀又叫泛讀。高中英語新課標(biāo)教材對高中前八個模塊的學(xué)習(xí)有一個要求：課外閱讀要完成30萬單詞的閱讀量。也就是說：同學(xué)們需要每天有500到700個單詞量的閱讀。課外閱讀也是運(yùn)用語言的一種必不可少的形式。課外閱讀不能停留在完成幾道閱讀理解試題或者完形填空試題。關(guān)鍵在盡量弄懂文章中的每一句話含義、長難句的結(jié)構(gòu)。留意你還不很熟悉的詞匯、詞匯知識和語法知識。還要去認(rèn)真體會不同的英語句子在表達(dá)上的精確性。千萬不要在一些你還不認(rèn)識的，拼寫怪誕，發(fā)音困難的生僻詞匯上浪費(fèi)時間和精力。

一、落實(shí)詞匯、詞匯知識和特殊句式的積累。落實(shí)詞匯和詞匯知識并不是反復(fù)背記詞匯表中的單詞。落實(shí)詞匯、詞匯知識以及特殊句式的最好辦法是先探究后運(yùn)用。一個詞匯在經(jīng)過七到八次在不同時間和不同的`語境中運(yùn)用后，它就是你的了。詞匯知識和特殊句式也是一樣。寫作是運(yùn)用，造句是運(yùn)用，閱讀，傾聽和與他人用英語交流也是運(yùn)用。借助詞典進(jìn)行造句練習(xí)，在造句中運(yùn)用新學(xué)的詞匯不失為一種行之有效的簡單易行的方式。

四、落實(shí)課內(nèi)課外書面作業(yè)。簡單的完成老師布置的作業(yè)量并不是落實(shí)。書面作業(yè)質(zhì)的落實(shí)必須是在真正懂了、記住了的基礎(chǔ)上又快又好的獨(dú)立的、閉卷式的完成書面作業(yè)。對發(fā)現(xiàn)的漏洞和缺陷要采取補(bǔ)救措施。

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. The very first thing you have to do to create abundant
self-confidence is to start thinking ourselves with confidence. Pay attention to your internal dialogue, and learn to notice when you allow negativity or doubt to control the course of your thinking.
Your environment has a tremendous influence on you. The books you read, the people you spend time with, and the music you listen to all influence the way you think and feel about yourself and the world around you.
In a nutshell, your environment can either build up your self-confidence or drag it down.
If you're in a situation where you're discouraged, such as an unhealthy relationship or a miserable job, you have to change that situation if you want your self-confidence level to grow.
Create an environment that supports you if your desire to have abundant self-confidence. Spend time with confident people. Remember those, self-confidence can be yours. Take it!

Ladies and Gentlemen, keeping optimistic, you will be able to realize, in spite of some hardship, there’s always hope waiting for you, which will lead you to the ultimate success. Historically as well as currently, there are too many optimists of this kind to enumerate. You see, Thomas Edison is optimistic; if not, the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world. Alfred Nobel is optimistic; if not, the explosives and the prestigious Nobel Prize would not have come into being. And Lance Armstrong is also optimistic; if not, the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a 5-time winner of the Tour De France.
A rose may be beautiful, or maybe not; that depends on your attitude only, and so does success, so does life. Hindrances and difficulties do exist, but if you are optimistic, then they are only episodes on your long way to the throne of success; they are more bridges than obstacles!
