圣誕節(jié)的英文演講稿 1
ladies and gentlemen, good evening!
Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls . Before the term ends in some schools , the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.
On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace , so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, Father or Mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.
On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.Children look for their presents , and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one oclock in the afternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in . The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten . Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it . The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.
Christmas Is Coming
I like Christmas, it is just like our Spring Festival.
Maybe the Spring Festival is much more important and interesting than Christmas, but I like Christmas Day better. Because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy, Christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. I can imagine I am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. What a beautiful place! So we can also call Christmas “Snowy Lovely Day.”

Iadies and gentlemen, good evening!
It is not easy to pin-point the origins of the christmas feast, today the more important feast of the christmas season in most western christian churches. one can only say for certain that the birth of jesus christ was being celebrated in rome by the year 336 a.d.; afterwards the feast was celebrated in other christian churches throughout the world.
Why it was celebrated on december 25th is another question. no date for the birth of jesus can be found in the new testament, which is concerned more with the question "who is jesus?" than the date of his birth. early christian speculation about his birth date was influenced by the symbolism of the changing seasons, then popular in religious thought, which paid careful attention to the equinoxes and solstices of the sun. christian scholars speculated that jesus was conceived at the spring equinox (march 25th) and therefore was born on december 25th, the date of the winter solstice.
In many of the christian churches, march 25th is still the feast of the annunciation, when the angel gabriel announced to mary that she was to be the mother of jesus.
Possible impluse for the feast of christmas may have came too from the establishment of the pagan feast of the "unconquered sun-god" by the emperor aurelian in 274 a.d. to be celebrated on december 25, the day of the winter solstice in rome and throughout the empire. in response, christians could celebrate the feast of the "sun of righteousness" (malachi 4,2), jesus christ, who called himself " the light of the world."

On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colourful things. So shops look very beautiful. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” By the way, I think studying can also become much more interesting.
Christmas will come, it also means a new year will come. Let’s study harder to welcome the new year!

Christmas day is on December 25, people around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Some people celebrate by giving gifts. Children may be thanking Santa Claus for new toys. They may also be going to church with their families. All the people always decorate a Christmas tree and sing and dance at home on Christmas day.
In the west, if there is one holiday that is almost universal. It’s Christmas. Christmas for westerners is like spring festival for Chinese. It is a big day that all the family members will sit together and have a nice meal. Some people are going to celebrate it in one of their friends family. There is a traditional Christmas game called "secrets anta "which is good to families and friends. Everyone needs to buy a gift, write his or her name on a small card and put all the cards in a box, take out a card one by one and give his or her gift to the person whose name is on the card, give him or her a big hug and say merry Christmas, have fun!
In this day, children are the happiest. On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. the greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed. On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two o’clock and most of them are awake by six oclock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.
In china, On Christmas Eve in Beijing, more than 15-hundred people packed into the 407-year old Church of the Immaculate Conception in Beijing to celebrate midnight mass - while many more stood outside watching services on two big TV monitors. It is not exaggerated to say that Christmas has become a popular festival in China.
However, some people argue that Christmas is overshadowing traditional festivals like the Spring Festival and it signals the destructive process of westernization among the Chinese and thus it should be condemned. However, I take a more optimistic stand on this phenomenon as it signifies Chinas opening up to the world and its preparation for appreciate other cultures.
Moreover, we have our distinctive way of celebrating Christmas. Instead of going to the church like the Americans, we regard Christmas as an opportune time to shop and to enjoy ourselves, as many shopping centers offer discounts to attract customers in Christmas season. As such, our values are not deeply altered by our celebration of Christmas.
Today is Christmas Eve; it’s time for me to say “Happy Christmas”.
That’s all. Thank you.

Good morning. On this Christmas Eve, Laura and I send our best wishes to families across America as you gather in your homes to celebrate the holiday. Christmas is a time of joy and peace, and we hope the holiday season brings all of you happy reunions with families and friends, and time to rest and reflect as you look forward to a new year.
At Christmas, we give thanks for the gift of the birth of Christ, and for the blessings that surround us every day of the year. In this great and prosperous land, we have so much to be thankful for, and Christmas reminds us of our obligation to share these blessings with others. There are many among us who are hurting and require a helping hand. In the new year, I hope Americans will look for ways to volunteer your time and talents where they are needed most. By reaching out to a neighbor in need, we make our nation a more just and compassionate place.
This Christmas, we remember our fellow citizens who suffered from the hurricanes and other disasters that struck our nation this past year. We pray for their strength as they continue to recover and rebuild their lives and their communities.
During the holiday season and throughout the year, we think with pride of the men and women of our Armed Forces, who are keeping our nation safe and defending freedom around the world. In Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, they are protecting our liberty by spreading liberty to others, and all Americans are grateful to our troops for their courage and commitment.
We re also grateful to their families. Staying behind when a family member goes to war is a heavy burden -- and it s particularly hard at Christmas. We pray for our military families; we ask Almighty God to bestow His protection and care on their loved ones as they protect our nation from grave dangers.
We also remember the heroic men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation s freedom. We pray that God will comfort the loved ones they left behind. The sacrifices of these brave troops have rescued millions from lives of tyranny and sorrow, and made America more secure. We will always cherish the memory of each of our fallen servicemen and women, and count it a privilege to be citizens of the country they served.
The times we live in have brought many challenges to our country. And at such times, the story of Christmas brings special comfort and confidence. Christmas reminds us that we can trust in God s promise of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. On a night more than 2,000 years ago, an angel of the Lord brought good tidings of great joy: the God of Heaven had come to Earth, and He would be with us always.
Thank you for listening, and Merry Christmas.
圣誕節(jié)的英文演講稿 9
Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world.
On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is
called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only
come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger
kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers.
Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in).
Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear.I
hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
