It was written by Xia Xiangping, executive director of the China Association of calligraphers. The back is inlaid with polished granite and engraved with English inscriptions.
The Monument Square and the relief of the monument are divided into four parts: earthquake disaster, earthquake relief, recovery of production and construction of a new Tangshan. They record the great feats of Tangshan people in earthquake relief and reconstruction of their homes.
