Some years ago， my hometown used to be a beautiful place。 Thick trees and green grass could be seen all over the hills。 As time went on， people destroyed almost the whole forest to grow more crops。 To make matters worse， people let their cattle eat up the grass。 So， you can only see wasteland instead of green forests now。 As a result， when it rains， the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers。 Strong winds also blow away the valuable soil that lies on the top of the fields。 I do hope all the people will take good care of the forests and plant more trees to improve our living conditions。

News often report news of casualties, such as someone because drink beverages containing chemicals and poisoning, and people were containing sand blown blind eyes... Ah! Absolutely horrible! If everyone around you endlessly environmental pollution, destruction of their homes, so, I really can't imagine that ten years, twenty years, thirty years later... Water is the lifeblood of the environment, essential to the survival of all living things-plants, animals, and human. Although we recognize this fact, we disregard it by polluting our rivers, lakes, and streams. Afterward, we are slowly but surely harming our planet to the point where organisms are dying at a very alarming rate, and our drinking water has become greatly affected. In order to fight against water pollution, we must understand the problems and become part of the solution; we also need to do everything possible to maintain its quality for today and the future.The government alone cannot solve the entire problem; it’s up to us when it comes to the problems we face with our water. In your home, correctly dispose dangerous household products. Keep paints, used oil, cleaning solvents, pool chemicals, and other dangerous household chemicals out of drains, sinks, and toilets because many of these products contain harmful substances. In your yard, recycle used motor oil. Avoid pouring waste oil and resist the temptation to dump wastes onto the ground.These are just a few of the many ways in which we, as human have the ability to combat water pollution.
If these measures are not taken and water pollution continues, life on Earth will suffer severely.

Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.
In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.
