We chased after them, laughing and screaming. Sometimes, we would run too fast and trip over our own feet, but that didnt stop our excitement. Once we caught a firefly, we would gently put it into the jar. Watching the firefly glow inside the jar, we felt like we had captured a piece of the night sky.
After a while, we would release the fireflies back into the wild. We knew that they belonged to the meadow, and setting them free made us feel happy too. These summer nights full of fireflies are still some of my fondest childhood memories.
