1979年45歲時第一次隨團(tuán)去法國和德國參觀。當(dāng)時我能閱 讀自己熟悉的專業(yè)書刊，算是代表團(tuán)中英語水平比較高的。但一到外國，除了一般的問候語以外幾乎都聽不懂，說不了，所以根本聽 不懂技術(shù)講解。對于熟悉的專業(yè)書面材料，如果是用大寫字母寫成的說明，一時還反應(yīng)不過來，需要在腦子中翻譯成小寫才看得懂。 代表團(tuán)團(tuán)長還不時地鼓勵我“膽子大一些”。其實(shí)哪里是什么膽子大小的問題，聽不懂，說不了，看不懂，哪里來的'膽子？
