My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice. But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town.Many people had no work. They lived a hard life. In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theaters have sprung up one after another.The life of the people is greatly improved. I love my hometown and all the people there. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

Shanxi is named after the west of Taihang Mountain. The capital city of Shanxi is Taiyuan, which is a good place. Shanxi is also the mother river of the Chinese nation - the place where the Yellow River passes.
There are many places of interest in Shanxi. A universalist temple, the Yellow River, Tieniu Houtu temple, Guan Yu Temple...... There are many places to visit, such as: Yuncheng, Xiaxian drifting East Garden etc.. These places are enough for us to enjoy and play for ten days and a half months.
The Datong of Shanxi is called "the capital of coal mines". As the name suggests, it is the place where the coal is produced most, and for this reason, a "black" trophy is gained.

The Purple Mountain is another place that is worth visiting. You can breathe fresh air there. Its also a good place to go climbing.
