The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors.

It was also a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest. Many people hoped for good luck as well for the coming year.

Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. Generally, the porridge contains eight ingredients which can include glutinous rice, red beans, millet, Chinese sorghum, peas, dried lotus seeds and some other ingredients, such as dried dates, chestnut meat, walnut meat, almond, peanut, etc. The porridge must be boiled for many hours and then offered as a sacrifice to the ancestors. This must be done before noontime. Also, it is tradition that family members eat the porridge together. Then they leave some as a symbol of hope for a good harvest the coming year.

Another custom is the soaking of Laba garlic. Garlic is soaked in vinegar for more than twenty days starting from Laba festival. Then when the Chinese New Year comes, the garlic and vinegar is used alongside jiaozi on the table.

Last Qingming Festival,I return home to worship my grandfather.Qingming

Festival is a folk Festival. In the past,In the past, the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a familys home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children.

In China, Mid-autumn Day is considered to be a symbol of family reunion. On this day, all the family members gather together at home to celebrate this special occasion. Last year, I could not celebrate the festival with my family because I was in university. However, this special day left a deep impression on me.

I still remember the atmosphere of that evening. All the students who could not go back home assembled in our classroom, having a party to celebrate this traditional festival. We tried our best to show our own enthusiasm. As an ethnic minority, I performed a peacock dance, which received warm applause. After the two-hour party, we went out to the playground and sat together to appreciate the moon because it is a tradition on Mid-autumn Day. We ate moon cakes, played cards, and listened to romantic poems recited by one of our classmates. In that harmonious atmosphere, nobody felt lonely or homesick even though we were far away from our homes.

Thanks to our classmates, I experienced such a colorful and interesting Mid-autumn Day at my university. Thus, I learned to value all the festivals I spent during my universit.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals, the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.

The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperors court.

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor, in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan, the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan, their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Double Fifth. It has since been celebrated, in various ways, in other parts of East Asia as well. In the West, its commonly known as Dragon Boat Festival.

The exact origins of Dragon Boat Festival are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. He committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fish so they would not eat Qus body. They also sat on long, narrow paddle boats called dragon boats, and tried to scare the fish away by the thundering sound of drums aboard the boat and the fierce looking carved dragon head on the boats prow.

In the early years of the Chinese Republic, Duan Wu was also celebrated as "Poets Day," due to Qu Yuans status as Chinas first poet of personal renown.

Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous rice dumplings called zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon boats in memory of Qus dramatic death.

At the center of this festival are the dragon boat races. Competing teams drive their colorful dragon boats forward to the rhythm of beating drums. These exciting races were inspired by the villagers valiant attempts to rescue Chu Yuan from the Mi Lo river. This tradition has remained unbroken for centuries.

Tzung Tzu A very popular dish during the Dragon Boat festival is tzung tzu. This tasty dish consists of rice dumplings with meat, peanut, egg yolk, or other fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The tradition of tzung tzu is meant to remind us of the village fishermen scattering rice across the water of the Mi Low river in order to appease the river dragons so that they would not devour Chu Yuan.

If I want to say I like festivals, there are many: Labor Day, national day can go out to travel, childrens day on June 1 can be Carnival in school, and on Halloween, I can go with my classmates for gifts If you like it best, it should be the Lantern Festival.

Yesterday was a traditional Chinese festival, the Lantern Festival on the 13th day of the first month. Previously, on the 13th day of the first month, I used to play lights and play games with my friends in the community. This year, my mother proposed to go to Longchuan square. My father and I agreed very much, so we drove off. Before the five-star appliances, we can see that there are countless small bright spots in the sky ahead. Strange, what is it? Take a closer look, it turns out that the "Kongming lamps" are very bright against the background of the night. With the help of the wind, they sway gently, just like fireflies dancing with the wind. They are really beautiful. I got off the bus in Longchuan square with great excitement. Wow, its really lively. There are people selling Kongming lanterns, fireworks and playing with each other. It seems that we didnt waste the trip.

"Kongming lamp" flew to the sky one by one, watching me itch in my heart, pestering my father to buy one, and my mother expressed support. So I took the money and rushed to pick out a red Kongming lamp. After taking apart, I fixed the burner, ignited the fuel, and then stepped on the steel ring of the lamp to let it gather gas and generate heat. Five minutes later, Kongming lamp has been fully opened. The three members of our family cooperate with each other, holding the bottom of the lamp and slowly lifting it upward. When the time is right, we will let go. I prayed silently in my heart: "I must go up, this is my first time playing Kongming lamp." Kong Ming Deng seems to hear my call, with the wind rising slowly, I hastily make a wish with my hands together. Kong Ming Deng carries my wish to fly higher and farther.

How interesting this festival is, nervous, excited and excited. This is my favorite festival. How about you?

Labor Day, also known as International Workers Day, is a global holiday celebrated on May 1st to honor the contributions and achievements of workers. It is a symbol of the struggle and hard work of workers around the world, and a reminder of the importance of their rights and welfare.

The origin of Labor Day dates back to the 19th century, when workers in industrialized countries faced harsh working conditions and low pay. To demand better working conditions and rights, workers organized strikes and protests, leading to the establishment of the International Workingmens Association in 1864. In 1886, workers in the United States organized a large strike in Chicago, demanding an eight-hour workday. This strike eventually led to the enactment of laws limiting the working hours of workers.

In 1889, the Second International, a socialist organization representing workers from various countries, declared May 1st as International Workers Day. This declaration was aimed at promoting solidarity and unity among workers worldwide, and to commemorate the struggles and achievements of workers.

Since then, Labor Day has become a global holiday celebrated in many countries. In the United States, Labor Day is a federal holiday, and people usually take this day as a break from work to enjoy family time, hold parties, or participate in various events.

The significance of Labor Day lies in its reminder of the hard work and contributions of workers, as well as the importance of protecting their rights and welfare. Workers are the backbone of any society, and their efforts are essential for the development and progress of a country. By celebrating Labor Day, we honor their contributions and show our appreciation for their hard work.

The international workers’day, also known as May day,is celebrated on the first day on May. There are more than eighty countries celebrate this festival since 1889. People may know that the worker’s day is about having a rest on that day,but most of them don’t know how this day comes from and the story behind it.

In the late of 18 century, the cruel capitalists in order to make more money, they demanded their employers to work all day,but only paid them with low salaries. In America, the workers had to work at least 14 hours a day, sometimes, they even worked as long as 18 hours. Due to the unfair payment, the works knew that they had to stand up and fight for their rights,or all of them will die young. Then the workers started to go on strike, demanded that the reasonable working hours should be 8 hours a day. However, the capitalists did not pay attention to the workers’demand. The workers had to fight for their rights for themselves. On may 1st,1886,the United States and Canada’s worker unions got together to start the biggest strike. After that day,the law had passed the rules that the workers’working hours would be 8 hours per day. This strike had made a different. The worker did not need to suffer from the long working hours with low payment.

The international worker’s day aims to memorize the spirit of brave and show our honor to the former workers. Because they had make great contribution to today’s happiness.

          Happy workers’day !

June 1 childrens Day is our holiday. Our school held a celebration of 61 Art Festival. The students performed many programs, and the content of the program was very rich. The parents choir sang us two songs.

The dance rehearsed in our class is called "Di Zi Gui". When we performed, one of our classmates accidentally made a mistake. We were worried that it would affect our overall effect, but after the performance, everyone clapped.

My favorite program is "pulling seedlings and encouraging growth". I like this program very much. Pulling seedlings and encouraging growth tells us not to be impatient and eager for success, but to be bad.

I love our childrens day very much. I wish my classmates 61 happy days.

Children’s day is on the first day of June. On that day, every child will celebrate it in their ways. The school always prepare some funny games for students, and all of these leave the children a happy childhood. For most parents, they are very busy and don’t take Children’s Day seriously. The time to spend with children matters so much.

Most parents believe that they live with the children every day, so there is no need to spare extra time to play with them. It is totally wrong thought. Every parent is busy, but some of them will spare some time to play with their kids, because they don’t want to miss every important moment for their children. Everything the elders do will be remembered by the young hearts. It is the best love for them.

Some parents satisfy their kids by giving money and buying what they want. Actually, it is better to spend some time with children, or have communication with them. It is said that company is the best love.

Dragon Boat Festival is one of Chinese traditional festivals. Its on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is known as one of the four major traditional festivals of Han Chinese together with the Spring Festival, the Qingming Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

A number of theories exist about its origins, but the best accepted one is that its for memorizing the famous patriotic poet Qu Yuan. On this day, people have the customs of eating zongzi(rice dumpling), racing dragon boats and drinking realgar wine, etc. In 2008, it was recognized as a public holiday in mainland China for the first time which cannot only help spread this traditional culture but also meet the need of people.

The Duanwu Festival, which is also called the Dragon Boat Festival, is an ancient Chinese traditional festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.

For thousands of years, various celebrating activities are held all around the country. Eating zongzi and racing dragon boats are the most pertinent ones, which are said to be in memory of Qu Yuan, a great poet. In some places, people spread realgar wine on the children in the hope of protecting them from the evil spirits. Many people consider May as an especially dangerous time for diseases in a year, and therefore they hang moxa and calamus and things like that around the doors to ward off evil and diseases and pray for good luck.

Chinese traditional culture has a long and profound history, and each festival corresponds to a festival. Among these many festivals, I like the Dragon Boat Festival the most.

The fifth day of May every year is the Dragon Boat Festival. This morning, the streets and alleys were filled with the fresh fragrance of zongzi leaves in every household. On this day, people eat Zongzi, so both businesses and ordinary people make zongzi leaves early, prepare sticky rice and stuffing to make Zongzi. Zongzi was wrapped and cooked like magic in the early morning. At this time, anxious children will clamour to eat when looking at the steaming Zongzi, while adults will patiently coax: "Wait a moment, pull it out with cold water before eating." Finally, they can eat. Children cant wait to peel off the leaves of zongzi. The beautiful, sticky zongzi is exposed. One bite of it is really sweet and smooth. After three bites of it, children usually eat it. Who makes it so sweet and delicious! Adults often smile and say, "Eat, eat, eat more!" Because this is the only Dragon Boat Festival this year, and only the Zongzi made on this day will have a different taste when it is eaten by people.

Speaking of eating Zongzi at the Dragon Boat Festival, here is a story. In ancient China, there was a poet named Qu Yuan who, due to the fall of his country and his unwillingness to submit to the enemy, ultimately threw himself into the river. To commemorate him, later generations chose to make Zongzi and throw it into the river on this day. Later on, this custom was widely spread until today.

The Dragon Boat Festival is not only about eating Zongzi, but also about other activities. Some cities in the south will hold dragon boat races on this day. On this day, adults and children flocked to the venue of the competition, which people had been looking forward to for a long time. On this day, we not only make Zongzi to eat, but also buy some wormwood leaves to put at home. Whats even more interesting is that there are shops selling small accessories on the street, which are sachets worn by children. It is small and exquisite, with exquisite patterns of five poisons embroidered on the bag. Children can wear it to ensure safety. These small accessories are all very cute, causing passersby to stop and watch, insisting on buying one to leave with satisfaction.

The Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, and I am deeply looking forward to it. The sweet aroma of zongzi has deeply rooted in my heart, and I eagerly look forward to its arrival.

My favorite festival is the Dragon Boat Festival, because at that time, groups of people were outside boating, walking, shopping.

I like eating and making zongzi best. The ingredients of zongzi include egg yolk, red dates, beef and rice. To make zongzi, you should first have ingredients and rice, and then cook the rice. Then you can wrap the rice and ingredients with leaves. The zongzi is so simple. But my grandmother wont let me eat zongzi, because she said that I will get sick after eating zongzi, but she also wont let me make zongzi. Who can let no one in my family eat it traditional Chinese rice-pudding.

A lot of people say that I cant eat rice dumplings. But I dont think so, because sometimes I can eat rice dumplings, row boats and play electronic products secretly. The only worst thing is that no one is playing with me at home. My sister is in junior high school, my sister is tens of thousands of meters away, and my classmates are not playing games.

But the Dragon Boat Festival is still my favorite festival.
