一天夜晚，燈光下媽媽在家里邊做玩具，邊看著新聞。我在書房里看書。突然，媽媽叫著：“穎兒，快來看！這新聞上的工人在和外國人說著什么？”我跑出來一看，只見電視上正在播放著一群外國人在參觀一個玩具公司，一個外國人正在和一位工人用英語在交談著的新聞。
“媽媽，我剛開始學的也聽不明白，不過播音員不是解釋著嗎？”我搖搖頭說。
“快看，這工人最后說的Goodbye（再見）是什么意思？”
“那是再見的意思。您不也初中畢業(yè)嗎？您怎么聽不懂英語呢？”
“哎，別提了，那時我學習很不認真，成天只知道玩，現(xiàn)在后悔也來不及了�！眿寢屔钋榈赝送�，“穎兒，你一定要好好學習呀，不能像媽媽這樣一無所長呀。”
媽媽望了望電視，自言自語地說：“唉，要是我也會說英語那該多好�。 �
