Should Food Be Banned on the Subway?
地鐵上禁止吃食物嗎?
Currently, some cities are considering a food ban on subways, which has sparked heated discussion. Some people say food should be banned because of the trash and rats they attract. And, garbage from discarded food can cause track fires. Beyond sanitary and mechanical concerns, food can also cause fights, as was discovered last week by one passenger who criticized a woman eating steamed stuffed bun on the subway.
目前，一些城市正在考慮對地鐵的食品禁令，這引發(fā)了激烈的討論。有人說食物應(yīng)該被禁止，因為垃圾和大鼠的吸引力。而且，垃圾從廢棄的食物可以引起軌道火災(zāi)。除了衛(wèi)生和機(jī)械方面的問題，食物也可能導(dǎo)致打架，正如上周被一位乘客發(fā)現(xiàn)的'，他批評一位婦女在地鐵上吃包子。
However, some others are opposed to the idea. They argue that people like eating in the train in the morning because they dont have enough time to eat at their houses or restaurants. Sometimes that may be the only time or meal a transit rider may be able to eat especially when traveling long distances. Besides, there are people, for example diabetics, who do require food at various times to maintain blood-sugar levels.
然而，有些人卻反對這個想法。他們認(rèn)為，人們喜歡在火車上吃，因為他們沒有足夠的時間在他們的房子或餐館吃飯。有時，可能是唯一的時間或吃飯的過境車手可能會吃，特別是在旅行時長距離。此外，還有人，例如糖尿病患者，他們在不同時期需要食物來維持血糖水平。
Personally, Im against the ban because of the huge inconvenience it would cause to commuters, and the expense involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we should have a little common courtesy. I think we all have responsibility to try to treat our subway system and fellow riders with respect, and that extends to food as well.
就我個人而言，我反對這項禁令，因為它會給通勤者帶來極大的不便，同時也會帶來費用的執(zhí)行。不過，我相信我們應(yīng)該有一點共同的禮貌。我認(rèn)為我們都有責(zé)任嘗試以尊重的地鐵系統(tǒng)和其他的車手，并延伸到食物。
