旅游英語(yǔ)作文 篇1
the tourist trade is booming. with all this coming and going, you’d expect greater understanding to develop between the nations of the world. not a bit of it! superb systems of communication by air, sea and land make it possible for us to visit each other’s countries at a moderate cost. what was once the ‘grand tour’, reserved for only the very rich, is now within everybody’s grasp. the package tour and chartered flights are not to be sneered at. modern travelers enjoy a level of comfort which the lords and ladies on grand tours in the old days couldn’t have dreamed of. but what’s the sense of this mass exchange of populations if the nations of the world remain basically ignorant of each other?
many tourist organizations are directly responsible for this state of affairs. they deliberately set out to protect their clients from too much contact with the local population. the modern tourist leads cosseted, sheltered life. he lives at international hotels, where he eats his international food and sips his international drink while he gazes at the natives from a distance. conducted tours to places of interest are carefully censored. the tourist is allowed to see only what the organizers want him to see and no more. a strict schedule makes it impossible for the tourist to wander off on his own; and anyway, language is always a barrier, so he is only too happy to be protected in this way. at its very worst, this leads to a new and hideous kind of colonization. the summer quarters of the inhabitants of the cite universities: are temporarily re-established on the island of corfu. blackpoll is recreated at torremolinos where the traveler goes not to eat paella, but fish and chips.
the sad thing about this situation is that it leads to the persistence of national stereotypes. we don’t see the people of other nations as they really are, but as we have been brought up to believe they are. you can test this for yourself. take five nationalities, say, french, german, english, american and italian. now in your mind, match them with these five adjectives: musical, amorous, cold, pedantic, native. far from providing us with any insight into the national characteristics of the peoples just mentioned, these adjectives actually act as barriers. so when you set out on your travels, the only characteristics you notice are those which confirm your preconceptions. you come away with the highly unoriginal and inaccurate impression that, say, ‘a(chǎn)nglo-saxons are hypocrites’ or that ‘latin peoples shout a lot’. you only have to make a few foreign friends to understand how absurd and harmful national stereotypes are. but how can you make foreign friends when the tourist trade does its best to prevent you?
carried to an extreme, stereotypes can be positively dangerous. wild generalizations stir up racial hatred and blind u to the basic fact—how trite it sounds! –that all people are human. we are all similar to each other and at the same time all unique.

I'm very happily today! In the morning, it is very fine! Then I climbing the mountain with my parents, the air on the mountain is very fresh, the flowers plants and trees on the mountain all seem extremely beautiful. In the afternoon, I go to friend's home to play, the friend entertains me warmly, show me a lot of books of his , has listened to his CD for me , then also ask me to eat a sumptuous dinner. Coming back home in the evening, family and I sat and watched TV together, we are returning and eating the fruit while chatting, the whole family is happy and harmonious!

旅游英語(yǔ)作文 篇3
I'm a 19-year-old female sophomore named Fu Ping。 I hereby earnestly invite a foreign young lady—college student preferred—to make a three C week touring trip with me。
My plan is to set off next weekend, when the summer vacation officially begins。 The first stop is Kunming, the world-renowned city for its beauty and mild temperature。 We'll get there by train and stay there for 2 days, and then we'll head for Jinggangshan, a former revolutionary base as well as a natural beauty spot。 After a 3-day visit there, we will take a long-distance coach to a nearby port city by the Changjiang River and board a downstream ship to Shanghai, so that we can enjoy the great scenery alongside the third longest river in the world。 As everybody knows, Shanghai is the busiest and fastest developing city in China。 I'd like to have a look at its prosperity, so the stay there will be about half a week。 And a famous Chinese saying goes, "Just as there is Paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on Earth ", so a 4-day visit to these two cities near Shanghai is must。 All together, our trip will last about three weeks。
I only expect that my travel-mate could split the expenses with me and talk with me in beautiful English, and I would be an excellent guide for her since I major in tourist guiding。
Those interested please contact me either through email ([emailprotected]) or phone call (522221111) 。
旅游英語(yǔ)作文 篇4
I went Chong Qing in July 22.It is a city which was built near mountains. So people call it Mountain CityIn Chong Qing. I went to the Red Stone Center, to see the places which the prisoners lived in the past.It is a terrible and awful trip. There are a lot of dogs, and soldiers with guns near the prisons. And most of the prisons are good, they didn't want to tell the bad people where the other people were. They lived in very small houses. No good food to eat, no good water to drink. They had only twenty minutes to stay out side per day but they still said nothing. I think they are the heros in that century. I will follow their spirit.

The Meaning of Travel
Travel is a good way to refresh and broaden our horizon. During your travel, you can turn off your cellphone and keep far from the Internet. You can forget your work, your study or your family, and just enjoy the leisure time. From the moment when you start your journey, all the trifles should be locked at your house. During the travel, you can kill your time slowly to have a good rest, and you can contact with different people. They may be a window for you to know a different world. Meet various people, experience things, which make your world bigger. You just clean up your entire mind and you can get the true meaning of travel.

旅游英語(yǔ)作文 篇8
There are varied ways of defining tourism. Some people regard it as a pollution-free industry; others think of it an invisible school, Both are based on an accepted fact that tourism cannot only produce profits bearing no pollution along with, but help broaden knowledge and fortify healthy. Aside from the above there exists awidespread theory, claiming that whatever is of the ability to increase in capital belongs to productive industry. In this sense, tourism should hold a position in the scope and ought to be treated as such.
It is true that there is some sense in the theory, yet another equally or even more important aspect should be granted more publicity to. Tourism, in terms of its objective purposes, has a social function which contributes to human munication. Coming from vadous social backgrounds, having motives and goals of every kind, tourists get together, draw close and exchange ideas of their own, from which a fresh state of mind will be created. So what kind of production is it? To the question we should have good reason to give a proper answer: it is a spirit production, a reproduction of relations of production. And the more frequently such exchanges are made, the more good they will do to promoting social and economic development of the mutual. If it is the case that making money through tourism means a dent we have made, so it foretells a fortune to provide cultural service along with tourism. Therefore, to keep close eyes on the latter involves changing our minds first, that is, tourism is by nomeans a pure economic concept, but takes plenty of ideological activities as its content.
To sum up, unlike other economic forms, the profits from tourism economy cannot be measured pletely by means of how much output value, profit, and foreign exchange it will produce. In addition to the reputation of pollution-free industry, its social and far-reaching profit should be probed more deeply. As such the existing scenic spots ought to be kept in good maintenance, and some new ones exploited. Moreover, constructing first-class soft and hard surroundings is desired to attract tourists, the foreign and the domestic.
旅游英語(yǔ)作文 篇9
On Development of TourismTourism, a smokeless industry, is developing n/pidly in China. With the opening and reform policy being carried out, thousands upon thousands of foreign visitors are crowding into our country. They are eager to see this old mysterious land with a splendid cultureof more than 5000 years. Tourism brings China a lot of benefits. First, it enablesitheChinese people to know more about the outside world and promotes frlendship and understanding. Second, it is financially beneficial to China, which needs more foreign currencies, for its modernization program.Tourism, however, gives rise to a number of problems. For instance, it becomes a burden to inefficient transportation system. Besides, the living standard of the average Chinese is still not: high enough to afford the many different sorts of expenses during long distance travels, As for me, with the development of our national economy, all these problems will certainly be solved Step by step. A much better and brighter future waits for us.
