About 40 kilometers east to Sanya, there is a small island living on the sea which has an area of 1.48 square kilometers and looks primitive as mountain, sea and forest remaining their natural conditions. That is Wuzhizhou Island. It is recorded that in the Qing Dynasty, a Taoist traveled to the island and considered it is a lucky place. Later, the local officials raised funds to build a temple on the island which is the only historic site.
The island was also a key military fort in the past, up to now, although you can still see tunnels and shooting posts, it has turned into a new tourist resort. In he morning, when the sun rises, the island looks like a big jasper on the sea. There are about 2,000 kinds of plants because it is rich in fresh water. In addition, the coral reef is well protected in the sea area around the island. Sea shells, fishes and sea plants can be seen even 18 meters underwater. It is a complex construction of the Square and large theme parks are on both sides of it. The area as a whole is called Guanyin Park, occupying an area of 300 thousand square meters.

After lunch we set on the car go to the south of the island. The driver’s grandma and grandpa are Chinese, they com to Lanta Island long time ago. But the driver only can speak English, he can’t speak Chinese. When we arrive there, the driver introduces us a cheap hotel, the room with fan just 300 baht per night. We stay here for 3 nights.
The fifth day I stay at the south of the island. I play with the sands all day. And I make a sand tower, it’s tall and strong. At eleven o’clock, a person kicks my tower, and it’s broken. In the afternoon I make a big and splendid sand castle. And I make a sand person in the castle, and I say he is the president.
The sixth day I go to snorkeling in Koh Rok, and we go there by long tail boat. The boat is small and long. I set in front of the boat. The eave is very big, and sometimes I feel I am flying. I am so scared. When we arrive there, the scenery of the island is amazing. Then I jump in the water to snorkeling. I see sea grass corals and a lot of fish. And I see a lot of Nimo live in corals. Unfortunately, in real practice, tourism has developed in a manner which often conflicts with the environment. To some extent, the faster the tourism economy develops, the worse the environment becomes.
What is the significance of tourism development if the ecological balance is destroyed? In my view, measures should be taken without any delay to address the problem before price is paid for the negative development of the tourism. What should be done first is to make more people aware of the importance of environment protection. Otherwise, sightseeing, as a relaxation for most city dwellers, would be an impossible-to-be-realized wish in a few years. Meanwhile, related laws must be laid down to protect the fragile environment and to penalize those who violate the law. Only in this way would we enjoy a wonderful natural ecosystem and an advantageous, fast-growing tourism economy.
