          介紹愚人節(jié)的英語作文 1

April Fools Day is traditionally a day to play practical jokes on others, send people on fools errands, and fool the unsuspecting. No one knows how this holiday began but it was thought to have originated in France.

The closest point in time that can be identified as the beginning of this tradition was in 1582, in France. New Years was celebrated on March 25 and celebrations lasted until April 1st. When New Years Day as changed from March 25 to January 1st in the mid-1560s by King Charles IX, there were some people who still celebrated it on April 1st and those people were called April Fools.

Pranks performed on April Fools Day range from the simple, (such as saying, "Your shoes untied!), to the elaborate. Setting a roommates alarm clock back an hour is a common gag. The news media even gets involved. For instance, a British short film once shown on April Fools Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees. Whatever the prank, the trickster usually ends it by yelling to his victim, "April Fool!"

April Fools Day is a "for-fun-only" observance. Nobody is expected to buy gifts or to take their "significant other" out to eat in a fancy restaurant. Nobody gets off work or school. Its simply a fun little holiday, but a holiday on which one must remain forever vigilant, for he may be the next April Fool!

Each country celebrates April Fools differently. In France, the April Fools is called "April Fish" (Poisson dAvril). The French fool their friends by taping a paper fish to their friends backs and when some discovers a this trick, they yell "Poisson dAvril!".

In England, tricks can be played only in the morning. If a trick is played on you, you are a "noodle". In Scotland, April Fools Day is 48 hours long and you are called an "April Gowk", which is another name for a cuckoo bird. The second day in Scotlands April Fools is called Taily Day and is dedicated to pranks involving the buttocks. Taily Days gift to posterior posterity is the still-hilarious "Kick Me" sign.

          介紹愚人節(jié)的英語作文 2

April 1st is the holiday April Fools also known as “All Fools Day.” Its exact origin is not known, because there are so many stories as to why it started. The most plausible tale is that New Years Day in France used to be April 1st, but the King changed it to January 1st. Not everyone accepted this change for several years and those who didn’t were scoffed as fools, thus the term April Fools.

Today people from many parts of the world are recognizing and celebrating April 1st in their own unique way. Here at International school is a fruitful student body from all over the world. I decided to ask a few of our fellow classmates from IS to pass on what they did for April Fools and also pass on this tradition to this who don’t know about this good hearted holiday. Maybe through Jinan University, April Fools one day will really be global.

          介紹愚人節(jié)的英語作文 3

Growing up as a child, April Fools Day was the one holiday I never felt clever enough to take part in. I was creative enough to make a costume for Halloween, or bake a dozen heart-shaped cookies on Valentines Day, but I never had any good ideas for playing pranks.

In elementary school, all my classmates would prepare a joke to play on April Fools Day. The joke was usually meant to be played on the teacher, and, for a week in advance, all the students would get together at lunch to plan out what the prank was going to be. This went on for years- since I went to a grade school with the same thirty students for all of primary school.

The ring leader of our class was a boy named Michael, and Michael always came up with the best pranks. When we were in the fourth grade he convinced us all to wear regular clothes instead of our school uniforms- even though we didnt have permission to. In the sixth grade, he got us all to agree to switch identities so that when the teacher called on me, I wouldnt answer for myself- instead another classmate would speak.

Our teachers always put up with our silly antics, even if they were childish. They always knew that Michael was in charge of our jokes as well, but they never punished him. They seemed to understand that as children we were entitled to a bit of fun, more-over that Michael got a lot of joy from organizing the whole thing and making us laugh with his crazy ideas.

In my final year of primary school Michael decided that for April Fools Day we needed to play our best prank yet. We all got together as a class- all fifteen boys and fifteen girls- and started spitting out ideas left and right. Michael really wanted it to be something no one at school would ever forget, so a lot of the ideas got rejected. No one questioned when Michael shot down an idea. He was the king of pranks, so we listened to all of his suggestions and criticisms.

Id never really spoken up during this yearly ritual, but something in me wanted to be a part of it this year. It was my last year before high school was to begin and I wanted to think that in our final scam, I would be an integral part of the plan. I wanted to use my creativity for a change and make everybody laugh.

On the third day of our meetings, the whole class got together at lunch and sat in our usual spot underneath a row of trees next to the soccer field. Sandwiches and juice boxes in hand, people started to once again feed our ring-leader ideas- each of which he discarded. Finally, I decided that maybe my idea was good enough. I was pretty positive Michael wouldnt think it wise enough, but I figured it was worth a shot. Besides, after all those years of sitting quietly and agreeing to whatever it was he thought of, I really had nothing to lose. Even if my idea wasnt "funny enough" I figured everyone would be shocked that I even thought of something. That was reason enough for me to get up and give it a go.

Putting my lunch down, I stood up in front of my classmates and gave a suggestion. "Every year we play a prank here at the school. How about, this year, we dont. How about we play the prank from outside of school?" Michael chimed in, "How are we supposed to manage that? I dont think I follow."

"Well," I went on, "I suggest that we dont even show up for school. I think our whole class should be absent." Everybody stared at me in complete shock. An entire class of thirty students, being absent on the same day would be an absolute riot. Michael has a big grin on his face, but the other students had a lot of questions.

"How will we convince ALL our parents to let us stay home? The chances of each of us getting them to allow it are slim to none. If one person shows up because their parents force them to go, then the prank is ruined."

I could see my idea wasnt winning them over, but then Michael stepped in, "Hey, I think Raquel has a great idea! This could be the funniest thing we do. Raquel, I think you found a winner." As soon as Michael accepted my idea, slowly everyone else did too. I could see they thought it was funny, but they were just worried it wouldnt work.

April Fools day finally arrived and we set our plan into motion. The night before some students faked a stomach ache after dinner. Some of my classmates faked fevers that morning. One or two students actually had been sick and couldnt get out of bed. I told my parents that I had an awful headache and needed to stay home.

Knowing what day it was, my parents asked if I was joking. I told them, "Are you kidding? Today we were going to play the best prank ever on Mrs. Butler, and I am so mad Im going to miss it! I really am feeling sick though, and I think its better I stay in. I wish I could be there, but I just feel terrible." My parents, knowing how our class was well known for its pranks, believed that I was sad about missing out and allowed me to stay in. Little did they know, this was the prank!

The next day we all showed up to class and sang to Mrs. Butler "April Fools!" She laughed and smiled and gave us a round of applause. "That was the best April Fools joke that has ever been pulled on me!" she said. "Any joke that gives me a day off of work is fine by me."

I was proud of myself for getting the courage to suggest the prank, and I was even more proud that people liked it- including my teacher. It was a moment in my childhood that Ill never forget, and Im sure the school never has either.

Time is like water and time flies. In the twinkling of an eye, the life of grade 5 is almost over. In these beautiful days, there are laughter, tears, pay and harvest, and the most unforgettable thing for me is April Fools day.

That day was April 1st, April Fools day. I hummed a little song and came to school in a happy mood. When I saw all my friends coming, I couldnt help laughing in my heart, because I would give them a big "surprise" later.

I went to Qu h Kun first and said to her mysteriously, "kuner, Ill surprise you after the first class!" "What surprise?" Qu h Kun couldnt wait to ask. "Dont reveal the secret!" As I spoke, I made a face at her.

Looking forward to the stars and the moon, the bell finally rang after the first class. I quickly took out a delicate small box and said to Qu h Kun, "open it and see if there are good things in it!" "Really?" She is dubious. "I promise!" Under the coax of my classmates and I, she finally opened the box. Its really "I dont know if I dont fight, Im scared when I fight!" With the opening of the box, a grinning monster jumped out of the box with a bang. Suddenly, a shocking scream came out of Qu h Kuns mouth. Seeing "the plot succeeded", I covered my ears and said proudly, "Happy April Fools Day!" Qu h Kun, who had slowed down, suddenly stretched out her "magic claw" and scratched on me. When I was scratched to the itch, I "giggled" and laughed. The people who laughed turned upside down and the sky was dark. He had to beg for mercy: "forgive me, boss, but I dare not dare to do it again!"

In the twinkling of an eye, it was time for lunch. I had forgotten the scene in the morning. I was having a sweet lunch. Suddenly, Qu h Kun smiled and said to me, "Zhao, I wish you a happy holiday!" This sentence made my father-in-law monk - confused, so he vaguely replied, "thank you!" As soon as the voice fell, there was laughter. Qu h Kun said triumphantly, "oh yeah, youve been recruited. Today is April Fools day. Youre a fool!" "Ah?" The reaction came, I really want to cry without tears

Alas, originally I wanted to play tricks on others, but I didnt expect that one was careless and became an "April Fool".

nowadays, there appears a phenomenon that the western customs are spreading into the east countries step by step, thus making many inhabitants who live in big cities enjoy themselves on these western festivals such as christmas day, april fool’s day, etc. such phenomenon shows us that the world people are getting close gradually and the world is becoming smaller and smaller as well. therefore, in my opinion, it’s a normal phenomenon s well as a necessary trend.

first of all, it shows that we chinese have become much opener rather than clinging to some very old customs, which are opposite our living. looking back on the history, we can find the answer to why our china was very poor and weak in the 1800’s. yes, the answer is that we closed ourselves not to let other countries know about us, and this led us to a very hard road on which we suffered many wars that many euro

pean countries launched. so i think it is more than necessary to accept other customs instead of closing ourselves. of course, festivals are just the beginning.

what’s more, the open and reform policy results in this. so i want to say it is a great achievement for the policy. since we took the policy into practice, our country is developing with a rapid speed. no doubt it is an essential trend.

last but not the least, we may get closer and closer not only to our home friends but also to many foreigners. we can never feel embarrassed for not knowing the other’s customs and manners. and more misunderstandings can be avoided as well.

to sum up, the trend has its great advantage to a certain extent. however, if we admire the western customs too much, it will be a disadvantage because china is our own country, all of us should enjoy a patriotic heart. wish in the near future, we can see the situation that westerners are en

joying themselves on the spring festival.

Today is April 1. In the afternoon, we returned to our classroom after the activity class.

Today, the topic of our class meeting is reading day, but today is also April Fools day, "Ding Ding Ding..." we heard the familiar voice, which is also the voice of class. Everyone is very excited.

After class, we all talked about todays math homework? Some said it was "standard training", others said it was oral arithmetic, mental arithmetic and skillful arithmetic. Everyone talked about it.

Teacher Dai stood up and said, "I heard teacher Yang say there is no math homework today." Everyone didnt believe it and said loudly, "teacher Dai! Happy April Fools Day!" Teacher Dai said, "if you dont believe it, ask teacher Yang after class." Everyone smiled and said, "teacher Dai, class is over." We ran out of the classroom and ran to miss yang. Miss Yang said, "there is math homework today." After hearing this, we left dejected.

After returning to the classroom, teacher Dai was very happy and gave us five words, "Happy April Fools Day!"

Today is April Fools day, because teacher Dai teased us. We are so miserable and happy!

Today, April 1, is April Fools day. Its a good time for the whole person. Let me show you the interesting events that happened in our class that day!

In the morning, the sky is blue, which is particularly quiet and refreshing. I came to the classroom with a good and happy mood.

As soon as I got to the door of the classroom, I saw the students talking and laughing together, and I got together. But everyone seems to have a very tacit understanding. When I came, they scattered one by one and went on their own. I was surprised, but some people didnt know what disease they had, so they ignored it and read their own books.

I was fascinated by it when a voice interrupted my thoughts. "Hello! Feng Qingqing, Xiao Ni said she had something to say to you. Go quickly." I didnt know what was going on, so I walked over foolishly. I have a loud voice. When I saw Xiaoni doing her homework, I deliberately joked loudly: "Xiaoni, what sweet words do you have to tell me..." you are sick. I dont see that I am busy. I have a skin sweet words to tell you, psycho. " When a hot face meets a cold stock, I want to be splashed by a ladle of cold water, which makes my father-in-law and two monks feel confused. Its really self humiliating. I turned around and saw several students laughing and blooming there. Oh! I see. These people are so brave that they dare to tease me. I have to understand. I was just about to say that those naughty students said to me in unison: Happy April Fools Day! " Mom, I just know that today is April Fools day. I was fooled! Im afraid. Im not convinced.

Really angry, the teacher called him to the office to help him get the test paper. When I really want to enter the classroom, I see those people who are making fun of me. I suddenly think of a way to tit for tat. I pretend to have a melancholy expression, slowly walk into the classroom and say in a helpless tone: "those people, the teacher just asked you to go to the office to revise your homework." As soon as I finished, they took it seriously, put on a poor look and reluctantly walked to the office, ha ha! They were fooled and I snickered.

Just after a while, those people came into the classroom again. They looked as if they were about to die. They came to me and shouted angrily, "whats the matter with you? Why did you lie to us. We were ridiculed by the teacher." I said with a clear conscience, "Oh, it seems that today is April Fools day. I wish you a happy April Fools day. Bye." I ran away before they reflected, but in less than three seconds, a storm began to chase the station.

How about it? Have you ever had such an end on April Fools day? Is it exciting?

To end our special news bulletin, said the voice of the television announcer, we"re going over to the macaroni fields of Calabria. Macaroni has been grown in this area for over six hundred years. Two of the leading growers, Giuseppe Moldova and Riccardo Brabante, tell me that they have been expecting a splendid crop this year and harvesting has begun earlier than usual. Here you can see two workers who, between them, have just finished cutting three cartloads of golden brown macaroni stalks. The whole village has been working day and night gathering and threshing this year"s crop before the September rains. On the right, you can see Mrs. Brabante herself. She has been helping her husband for thirty years now. Mrs. Brabante is talking to the manager of the local factory where the crop is processed. This last scene shows you what will happen at the end of the harvest: the famous Calabrian macaroni-eating competition! Signor Fratelli, the present champion, has won it every year since 1991.

And that ends our special bulletin for today, Thursday, April lst. We"re now going back to the studio.
