China Dining Custom
Table Manners
The main difference between Chinese and western eating habits is that unlike the West, where everyone has their own plate of food, in China the dishes are placed on the table and everybody shares. If you are being treated by a Chinese host, be prepared for a ton of food. Chinese are very proud of their culture of cuisine and will do their best to show their hospitality.
And sometimes the Chinese host use their chopsticks to put food in your bowl or plate. This is a sign of politeness. The appropriate thing to do would be to eat the whatever-it-is and say how yummy it is. If you feel uncomfortable with this, you can just say a polite thank you and leave the food there.
Eating No-no's
Don't stick your chopsticks upright in the rice bowl.Instead, lay them on your dish. The reason for this is that when somebody dies, the shrine to them contains a bowl of sand or rice with two sticks of incense stuck upright in it. So if you stick your chopsticks in the rice bowl, it looks like this shrine and is equivalent to wishing death upon a person at the table!
Make sure the spout of the teapot is not facing anyone. It is impolite to set the teapot down where the spout is facing towards somebody. The spout should always be directed to where nobody is sitting, usually just outward from the table.
Don't tap on your bowl with your chopsticks.Beggars tap on their bowls, so this is not polite. Also, when the food is coming too slow in a restarant, people will tap their bowls. If you are in someone's home,it is like insulting the cook.
Drinking
Gan Bei! (Cheers! “Gan Bei” literally means “dry [the] glass”) Besides beer, the official Chinese alcoholic beverage is Bai Jiu,high-proof Chinese liquor made from assorted grains. There are varying degrees of Bai Jiu. The Beijing favorite is called Er Guo Tou, which is a whopping 56% alcohol. More expensive are

Chinese table manners
Chinese table manners of families have no intrinsic quality even there are different region and position. No matter three meals a day or guest’s arrival, always bowls with chopsticks, food with soup. There is no rule for how to put the tableware. What people care about more are not the gorgeous tableware but the sumptuous food. People’s dining position reflects the most obvious etiquette of Chinese table manners. In ancient society, men are supreme, and women are not allowed to sit with men on the same table. Although this is modern society, this kind of ancient etiquette still remains. Today in China, the phenomenon that men sit on the table before women can be found everywhere. The master of a family usually sits on the first-class seat. The first-class seat is usually near the interior of a room facing to the door. Once there is a guest, the master will offer the first-class seat to the guest politely. If it is an ordinary meal of family, families should start after the elder. If there is a guest, the master offer the food to the guest is essential from the beginning to the end. And the tradition of urging others to drink is also a special phenomenon.
Even there is no official “table manners’ in china, while there is “eating behavior”. Once there is “eating behavior”, there must be some eating manners up to standard.
Here are some characteristics on Chinese eating:
a. Keep your eyes on the meal, especially at the beginning of the meal.
b. When eating, keep your bodies forward, and face to your food.
c. It is allowed to spit the bone on the tables.
d. When chewing, it is allowed to make some rhythmical noisy of chewing.
e. Traditional Chinese meal doesn’t need the public chopsticks.
f. Traditional Chinese meal doesn’t have the sweet snacks after meal.

中國(guó)英語(yǔ)作文 篇2
Dear Jim,
I’m very glad that you’ll come to visit China. You asked me about the weather in China. There are four seasons– spring, summer, autumn and winter. Summer is the hottest season of the year. It often rains. And winter is the coldest. Sometimes it snows, especially in the north of China. If you like snow, you can come to China at this time of year. But I think the best time to visit China is in spring or autumn because it is neither too hot nor too cold. It is very pleasant to visit many places of interest in China, such as the Great Wall, the West Lake, Mount Yellow and so on. I believe you will enjoy yourself in China. I can’t wait to see you.
Best wishes!
Yours truly,
John

中國(guó)英語(yǔ)作文 篇3
Chinese style education is undoubtedly a failure, or so many years before a Nobel prize.
What are the reasons for the failure? First of all, parents, the famous painter Da Finch's father Pietro is a commendable good father, he trains the children's creed is: give children the greatest freedom, let children develop their interest. China, parents give a cram school, make good learning plan, two hours in the morning, two hours in the afternoon. Children must be in accordance with their parents' wishes, otherwise it is a pain in the flesh.
It can backfire, but the child's achievement can not be raised. Learning needs the interest of learning, but Chinese students have lost this for many years. In their eyes, learning is the completion of homework -- a piece of paper, a set of questions, a task...... Parents always say that this is for you, learning is your own thing, I want to say: "since learning is my own thing, do not bother you more trouble."."
The top ranked students, parents generally ask their learning, but received satisfactory results. Parents' education is the biggest obstacle for students to learn. In their eyes, only doing homework is learning, reciting and reading is fooling time. A student is like a ruler, the more it is applied, the more bounce it is released, and the greater the strength is, the easier it is to break, and the person is abandoned".
It is a good material, together with the parents carefully "carve", this material charges. The more parents look more tight, performance is poor, the children lose interest in learning, add a bit of resentment and tired parents. Some people say that, no matter what they do, they don't learn. Can you manage the result? Is the rank first?
Yes, there are parents out of Tsinghua University, what it is, it is the tiger mother wolf dad, under the sticks of college students, they also proud to say: "their childhood is painful, but the rest of their life is brilliant." I Pooh, I see from their life will be dim and dark, what is the significance of training a group of a dead-alive person.
Practice a word and practice four lines of characters, which effect is good? Of course, the four line word, can easily write, and will come up with the best writing level. If forced to practice a word what effect, calligraphy has become a task of punishment, you have no interest in it, just want to get throught a thing carelessly. This is China's biggest sorrow, interest becomes a task, and then formalized. The beginning is good, but the ending is good......
Chinese style education, Chinese style education, why in front of adding a "Chinese style"?

Hi! Tom,
I’m glad to hear that you are interested in traditional Chinese festivals.
My favorite festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It usually comes in September or October. On that day, our family members usually get together and have a nice meal. After that, I always admire the moon and share mooncakes with my families.
I love this festival because I like eating mooncakes. They are in the shape of a full moon. They carry people’s wishes to the families they love and miss.
In short, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a day of pleasure and happiness. I hope that my letter will help you know more about Chinese festivals.
Yours,
Li Hua

中國(guó)英語(yǔ)作文 篇9
As is known to us,China has the biggest population in the world, which is more than 1,300,000,000.Such a large population causes some problems in cities, that's the unemployment.Too many people gather in cities and the jobs are not enough. Some graduates can't find a job though they have left school for years. In addition, traffic jam is another problem resulting from the big population. There are too many cars on the roads and streets.
The situation of the countryside is not good.Too many people live in the countryside and we don't have enough farm land for them.
Fortunately, our government has realized the problems and has attached great importance to them. The government is trying its best to create more jobs and improve traffic systems. Moreover, the one-child policy has helped a lot.
look at your watch for just one minuite.During that time,The popuiation of the world increased by 259.Perhaps you think that is notmuch.Hoever, during the next hour,over15540 more babies will be born on the world.
So it goes on,hour after hour.In oneday, people have to produce food fover 370000 more mouths.Multiply this by365.justthink how many more there will be in one year! What will happen in a hundred years?
The increasing population may be the greatest challenge of the world today. The world's population is growing faster and faster. Two thousang years ago, there only 250millon people on the earth. At the beining of the20thcentury,the world'spopulation was about 1.7billion.In 1990,it reached more than five billion. Now at the beininjg of the 21stcentthe world's population has passed six billion.people say that by the yeay 20xxit may be seven billion. That means in about 600 years, there will br standing room only on the earth. Each person will have one half to one square metre of space to live in.There will be hardly enough space ror angbody else.
