　　My mother and I went to the zoo this summer vacation.

　　There were many people there. In front of the elephant’s house, we saw a little elephant. It was very funny. It was about 1.5 meters tall and its body was just like a wall. Its legs were like four little trunks. Its head swung from one side to the other. So did its long nose about 0.8 meter long. And the nose was just like a water pipe. On its head were bright eyes and big ears.

　　Then I saw the elephant rolling up some grass and putting it into its mouth with its nose. How interesting it was! Sometimes the little elephant was very naughty, but sometimes very quiet.

　　說起比賽,從小到大我參加過許多項目，其中讓我印象最深刻的一次是四年級代表班參加英語說故事比賽,當時被老師選上的心情真是雀躍不已。

　　比賽的日子一天天的來臨，每當媽媽要我多練習時,我總是漫不經心,認為短短三分鐘的故事對我來說非常容易，根本不用花太多時間練習。直到預演時，站在講臺上結結巴巴、腦中一片空白時才知大事不妙。回家后，開始進行魔鬼般的訓練，不論是洗澡、吃飯甚至走在路上，我的口中總是念念有詞。直到比賽前一晚，我還希望明天發(fā)生超級強烈臺風，這樣就有多一天臺風假的`時間可以準備。但是,天不從人愿，比賽當天是個大晴天和我忐忑不安的心情正好相反。

　　比賽時,我抽到一號， 連害怕的時間都沒有就要準備上場了，說也奇怪，不知哪來的神秘力量?我竟能朗朗上口，順利的把故事說完。原以為兩腳發(fā)抖、忘詞的情節(jié)，竟然幸運的都沒有發(fā)生在我身上。下臺后,回到自己的座位上，專心聆聽其他選手的表演，有的人緊張得四肢僵硬、臉色發(fā)白，有的人表演得生動活潑、令人不禁贊賞!公布名次的時刻終于來了，很僥倖的我得到第三名，真是興奮極了!

　　有了這次的經驗，不但讓可以學習到其選手的優(yōu)點，也深深體會到“勝利是留給有充分準備的人”。如果當時我沒有下定決心急起直追、努力準備，也無法享受得到好成績的喜悅!下次的比賽，得要及早準備,才不會臨時抱佛腳，錯失成功的機會!
