        2022年精彩英語(yǔ)演講稿1

          A stormy nightin Hong Kong.

A young man who asked his girlfriend out on adate canceled the date and stayed at home because of the bad weather. Meanwhile, in the same apartment building, a pregnant lady who was lying in bed already, suddenly decided to drive out to grab some food. As she was driving back in the heavy rain, the lightning struck her building. And she saw the whole building collapsing in front of her in the storm.

All the residents of that building, including the young man, lost their lives in that accident. Yet the pregnant lady survived.

This is a story of fate by author, Kuang Ni from Hong Kong. Dead oralive, all depended on that one thought. Is this a made-up story, or a true reflection of our lives?

You have probably also experienced how one decision potentially leads to adramatic and different result. So is it accidental, or inevitable? Does destiny exist? If so, how is it formed? Can it be changed? How do we change it?

My dad published a book titled Enlightenment in 20xx. It’s a book about Buddhism and its wisdom that may help you in life. I say “A life-changing book” here because first of all, it is what the Chinese characters on the cover mean; secondly it is my own father’s book and of course I want to sell it; but thirdly, it indeed is “Alife-changing book.”

Ever since he published book, he has wanted me to translate his book when I grow more proficient in English. I doubt that I have the ability to translate his book yet, but I’d like to take this opportunity to share some bits and parts of his insights on Buddhism; especially those on Zen Buddhism that have helped me in my life. This speech will partially be a rough translation of the first chapter of his book, as he wishes, and partially my personal experience with Zen.

Since the day we’re born, we’ve stepped into a huge maze with only one exit. The exit leads to the tranquil middle path that Buddhism is looking for. And only by finding the right road can we exit the maze that is full of suffering. Different thing shappen to different people in our lives, but you should know that every hardship or impasse you face comes from the seeds of your past ignorance and presumptuous acts. There’s nothing we could do with things that already happened, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop searching for the way out. In fact, according to Buddhist teaching, if we wake up from the ignorance, we can definitely leave the maze.

There is a kind of dandelion in Canada that cangrow out of the ground again even if it’s been pulled out by its roots. Some specialists latter found out that this kind of dandelion has roots that are eight meters down into the earth, and at the end of the roots, there’s a seed. Even if the roots are taken out, the dandelion can grow out again because of its seed.

You -- you’re on the cusp of some of the most astonishing breakthroughs in the history of mankind -— scientific, technological, socially —- that’s going to change the way you live and the whole world works. But it will be up to you in this changing world to translate those unprecedented capabilities into a greater measure of happiness and meaning -— not just for yourself, but for the world around you.

And I feel more confident for my children and grandchildren knowing that the men and women who graduate here today, here and across the country, will be in their midst. That’s the honest truth. That's the God’s truth. That's my word as a Biden.

Congratulations, Class of 20xx. And may God bless you and may God protect our troops. Thank you.

        2022年精彩英語(yǔ)演講稿3

I was born different. But that doesn’t stop me from living my life. And I’m happy。

I love soccer so much and I don’t play as well as others, of course. But you know, in the World Cup, there is so much anticipation and excitement that stirs up in all of us and everybody cheers for this success of their own team. And you know in all games there is losing and winning. People who moan over, you know, their team not winning and then people who get so excited when they win. Everybody loves to win but we shall not linger on the difference between winning and losing. At the World Cup, most of the fans around the world will experience the loss of their team. But is losing failing?

At age 8, I wanted to end my life. I told my mom I wanted to commit suicide. And then, age 10, I actually tried. I felt like I had no hope to live. I felt like I was so different to everybody else, and there was definitely no future or hope for me. If I gave up, thinking that that was the end, I would have missed out on so much more. Life is life. There are lots of successes but also lots of failures and it repeats itself again and again. Should we really despair every time we go through, you know a failure?

You’re saying ‘oh, now I am a failure for the rest of my life.’ You see, the stairs right in front of me are a huge barrier and one step at a time is what I have to do. If I never try, I’ll never achieve anything. If I fall down, what do I do? I am gonna try again and again because the moment I give up is the moment that I’ll fail. It is so important that we don’t despair with the results that we sometimes don’t anticipate whether it’s in the soccer game or life. So embrace the path your team has taken and believe that they will try again with resilience. Then you will feel the happiness in life again to be able to enjoy the World Cup as a true festival as it is, a celebration. Failure is not important. How you overcome it is。

          Improving Our Examination System

The topic of my speech is "Improving Our Examination System". I hope you would like it.

It is well known that the examination system we are using now may be a good way to test your memory, but it can tell you nothing about a student's ability.

Once a child begins school, he enters a world of examinations that will determine1 his future and fate2.

The current3 examination system only encourages4 students to memorize what they are taught in class. It doesn’t enable(使能夠) them to gain(獲得) practical5 knowledge. The students who have high scores in the examinations are not certainly the best ones in their studying.

Some actions must be taken to change our current examination system. There should be some simpler and more efficient6 ways to test a student's true knowledge and ability, and that is what we should do immediately.

It means you’re willing to look foolish, you’re willing to run the risk of looking foolish in the service of what matters to you. And if you remember that, because some of the things your heart will tell you to do, will make you among your peers look foolish, or not smart, or not sophisticated. But we’ll all be better for people of your consequence to do it.

That’s what I want you to most remember. Not who spoke at the day you all assembled on this mall. You’re a remarkable class. I sure don't remember who the hell was my commencement speaker. I know this is not officially commencement. But ask your parents when you leave here, who spoke at your commencement? It’s a commencement speaker aversion of a commencement speaker’s fate to be forgotten. The question is only how quickly. But you’re the best in your generation. And that is not hyperbole. And you're part of a remarkable generation.

I"ll tell you an experience of myself happened last week. last thursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance, because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job. fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind.

At that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that i"m not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one. then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and don"t need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father, until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day.

At that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before, the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents, sometimes they"ll be angry with us, and sometimes we can"t quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child.

They are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them, but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are. so from now on, let"s care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. that"s what i want to tell you today. thank you!

When it comes to celebrating the 60th birthday of our great motherland,I would contribute my individual and unique colors to creating a more diverse motherland.

The traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our country. We won't let people down.

We will devote our wisdom and passion to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for everyone of us.

Finally,I do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizen of the country; I do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation and make great contributions to our society!

          That's all,thank you !

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind.

It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees.

          It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, vigor of the emotions;

It is the freshness of the deep spring of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity,

of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.

This often exits in a man of 60, more than a boy of 20.

nobody grows merely by the number of years;we grow old by deserting our ideas.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.

Worry, fear, self-distrust1 bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders,

the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living.

          In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station;

so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from infinite,

so long as you are young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with the snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism,

then you've grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up,

to catch waves of optimism, there's hope you may die young at 80.

Do you think it's possible to control someone's attention? Even more than that, what about predicting human behavior? I think those are interesting ideas, if you could. I mean, for me, that would be the perfect superpower, actually kind of an evil way of approaching it. But for myself, in the past, I've spent the last 20 years studying human behavior from a rather unorthodox way: picking pockets. When we think of misdirection, we think of something as looking off to the side, when actually it's often the things that are right in front of us that are the hardest things to see, the things that you look at every day that you're blinded to.

For example, how many of you still have your cell phones on you right now? Great. Double-check. Make sure you still have them on you. I was doing some shopping beforehand. Now you've looked at them probably a few times today, but I'm going to ask you a question about them. Without looking at your cell phone directly yet, can you remember the icon in the bottom right corner? Bring them out, check, and see how accurate you were. How'd you do? Show of hands. Did we get it?

Now that you're done looking at those, close them down, because every phone has something in common. No matter how you organize the icons, you still have a clock on the front. So, without looking at your phone, what time was it? You just looked at your clock, right? It's an interesting idea. Now, I'll ask you to take that a step further with a game of trust. Close your eyes. I realize I'm asking you to do that while you just heard there's a pickpocket in the room, but close your eyes.

Now, you've been watching me for about 30 seconds. With your eyes closed, what am I wearing? Make your best guess. What color is my shirt? What color is my tie? Now open your eyes. By a show of hands, were you right?

It's interesting, isn't it? Some of us are a little bit more perceptive than others. It seems that way. But I have a different theory about that, that model of attention. They have fancy models of attention, Posner's trinity model of attention. For me, I like to think of it very simple, like a surveillance system. It's kind of like you have all these fancy sensors, and inside your brain is a little security guard. For me, I like to call him Frank. So Frank is sitting at a desk. He's got all sorts of cool information in front of him, high-tech equipment, he's got cameras, he's got a little phone that he can pick up, listen to the ears, all these senses, all these perceptions. But attention is what steers your perceptions, is what controls your reality. It's the gateway to the mind. If you don't attend to something, you can't be aware of it. But ironically, you can attend to something without being aware of it. That's why there's the cocktail effect: When you're in a party, you're having conversations with someone, and yet you can recognize your name and you didn't even realize you were listening to that.

Now, for my job, I have to play with techniques to exploit this, to play with your attention as a limited resource. So if I could control how you spend your attention, if I could maybe steal your attention through a distraction. Now, instead of doing it like misdirection and throwing it off to the side, instead, what I choose to focus on is Frank, to be able to play with the Frank inside your head, your little security guard, and get you, instead of focusing on your external senses, just to go internal for a second. So if I ask you to access a memory, like, what is that? What just happened? Do you have a wallet? Do you have an American Express in your wallet? And when I do that, your Frank turns around. He accesses the file. He has to rewind the tape. And what's interesting is, he can't rewind the tape at the same time that he's trying to process new data.

Now, I mean, this sounds like a good theory, but I could talk for a long time and tell you lots of things, and they may be true, a portion of them, but I think it's better if I tried to show that to you here live. So if I come down, I'm going to do a little bit of shopping. Just hold still where you are.

Hello, how are you? It's lovely to see you. You did a wonderful job onstage. You have a lovely watch that doesn't come off very well. Do you have your ring as well? Good. Just taking inventory. You're like a buffet. It's hard to tell where to start, there's so many great things.

Hi, how are you? Good to see you.

Hi, sir, could you stand up for me, please? Just right where you are. Oh, you're married. You follow directions well. That's nice to meet you, sir. You don't have a whole lot inside your pockets. Anything down by the pocket over here? Hopefully so. Have a seat. There you go. You're doing well.

Classifying rubbish , improving environment good morning, respectable judges, teachers. today, standing here makes me feel really honored and e_cited. the title of my speech is classifying rubbish , improving environment.

Personally, rubbish has been a big headache in beijing. as the year __ is coming ,every citizen has realized green beijing and green olympics will bring the far-reaching impact on beijing and even all china . the scense of rubbish nearly everywhere has given all of us a really bad impression, and i'm sure none of us wish to show off the bad side of beijing to athletes and journalists all over the world, for it would blemish the city's and even china's image and leave a bad reputation. so we really have to work hard on green olympics.

Now, we are middle school students. we must improve the sense of protecting the environment and make a contribution to green olympics .

in our life, a lot of rubbish , such as waste paper, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day . after we learnt the passage make our environment more beautiful , we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion. so we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish . we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much . we became volunteers to classify rubbish . firstly we got three big bo_es and put them in a corner of our classroom . one is for waste paper , one for plastics and coke cans and the other is for batteries . with teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish a month , we collected three bo_es of paper , a bo_ of batteries and a bo_ of plastics and coke cans sold them for 28 yuan and bought some young trees with the money . we planted the trees around our school . we were all spoken highly of by our school principals. now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment .

The world trusts beijing ing still has a lot to do to reach the level the world e_pects, but we have the confidence to make beijing a green city. great changes are taking place, and not far in the future, beijing will be the focus of all worlds' attention. we'll grasp the opportunity and do our best to make the sky bluer, water greener and air fresher by the year __.

Let's all wish the best for the __ olympics in beijing. thanks for your listening.
