幸福是什么？
Hello everybody, today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of happiness.What is happiness? It is what everyone is longing for. Sometimes happiness would be rather simple. Winning a game is happiness; getting a high grade in the exam is happiness; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also happiness.

However, as far as a person’s whole life is concerned, happiness becomes very complicated(復(fù)雜的). Is fortune（財(cái)富） success? Is fame（名譽(yù)） happiness? Is high social status happiness? Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who have much money, but the fact is they are not happy. My dictionary defines happy as "lucky" or "fortunate", but I think a better definition of happiness is "the capacity for enjoyment（享受的能力）". The more we can enjoy what we have, the happier we are. It's easy to overlook（忽視） the pleasure we get from loving and being loved, the company of friends, the freedom to live where we please, even good health.

You never know where happiness will turn up（露面） next. When I asked friends what makes them happy, some mentioned seemingly insignificant（微不足道） moments. "I hate shopping," one friend said. "But there's this clerk （職員）who always chats and really cheers me up（給我歡呼聲）. "

We all experience moments like these. Too few of （太多的）us register（記錄） them as happiness.

Happiness isn't about what happens to us; it's about how we perceive（感知） what happens to us. It's the knack（訣竅） of finding a positive for every negative, and viewing a set-back（挫折） as a challenge. It's not wishing for what we don't have, but enjoying what we do possess（擁有）.

So I think happiness is everywhere . ok, this is my understanding about

What is happiness?
I believe that most of us had been “questioned” by our parents or relatives basically about “how much do you earn a month” or “have you gotten promoted”. But few of them care about that if we are living a happy life.
Concerning such phenomenon, a question comes to my mind: what is happiness?
As American president Franklin Roosevelt said,“ People are happy only because they think they are.”
Different kinds of people enjoy different kinds of happiness. To the chairman, nation’s harmony and prosperity is happiness. To retailers, selling more goods and having more customers is happiness. To the police, getting guilt punished and society’s stability is happiness. To beggars, away from starvation is happiness.
We will feel happy when we receive greetings and wishes. A few words like “Happy new year!” or “Merry Christmas” could be pretty delightful. But not all greetings and wishes lead to happiness. For instance, once I received a message from my girlfriend on November 11th. The message said “Happy bachelors day!”
Actually, no one can be happy forever.
We all confront difficulties and failures and experience reverse
in our daily lives, that is inevitable . We may be upset when we lose a game. We may feel tough when we suffer from diseases.
But it doesn’t matter because happiness is much more beautiful in comparison with these tragedies. As George Bernard Shaw, a famous British dramatist said , “l(fā)ifetime of happiness? no man alive could bear it, it would be hell on Earth .” We live a hard time so that we value the happy moments. If there is no sadness, then how could we be able to measure happiness?
People never give up the pursuit of happiness. They work hard in order to own a cosy life. They take morning exercises in order to keep healthy. They go on a trip in order to release the tension of emotion…
However, the whole world’s happiness is much more essential than the one’s.
It’s everyone’s duty to make the world full of love.
Actually, we are making move. I can see that more and more people start paying attention to the poor. A lot of Hope Projects emerged as well as charity organizations.
I have a dream that one day when an old man falls down in the middle of the street, passers-by will give a hand instead of walking away.
I believe that one day happiness will exist in every corner of
the world.
什么是幸福？
我相信我們每個(gè)人都曾經(jīng)被家人或親戚“拷問(wèn)”過(guò)，基本上都是關(guān)于“你一個(gè)月賺多少錢？”或者“你升職了嗎？”，但是很少有人關(guān)心：你過(guò)的幸福嗎？
基于這個(gè)現(xiàn)象，一個(gè)問(wèn)題出現(xiàn)在我的腦海：什么是幸福？
正如美國(guó)總統(tǒng)富蘭克林?羅斯福說(shuō)的：“人之所以幸福是因?yàn)樗麄冋J(rèn)為自己幸福�！�
不同的人有不同的幸福方式。對(duì)于國(guó)家主席來(lái)說(shuō)，國(guó)家的.和諧和富強(qiáng)就是幸福；對(duì)于小商販來(lái)說(shuō)，賣出更多的東西和擁有更多的顧客就是幸福；對(duì)于警察來(lái)說(shuō)，罪惡得到嚴(yán)懲和社會(huì)的安寧就是幸福；對(duì)于乞丐來(lái)說(shuō)，遠(yuǎn)離饑餓就是幸福。
當(dāng)被問(wèn)候或祝福時(shí)，我們就會(huì)有幸福的感覺(jué)。幾個(gè)字“新年快樂(lè)”或“圣誕快樂(lè)”會(huì)讓人很開(kāi)心。但是并不是所有的問(wèn)候和祝福都讓人有幸福感，比如，曾經(jīng)11月11號(hào)我收到我女友的一條信息，信息上面說(shuō)：光棍節(jié)快樂(lè)！
事實(shí)上，沒(méi)有一個(gè)人能一直幸福下去。
生活中我們會(huì)面臨各種各樣的困難和失敗，經(jīng)歷挫折，這是不能避免的。我們可能會(huì)因?yàn)檩數(shù)粢粓?chǎng)比賽而沮喪，我們也可能會(huì)遭受疾病的痛苦。
但是這沒(méi)關(guān)系，因?yàn)橹挥性谶@些悲劇的對(duì)比下，才顯得幸福更加的美麗。正如喬治?伯納德?肖，英國(guó)著名劇作家所說(shuō)：“終身幸福？這是任何活著的人都無(wú)法忍受的，那將是人間地獄。” 因?yàn)槊鎸?duì)困難的生活，幸福才顯得彌足珍貴。如果沒(méi)有悲傷，那幸福又如何丈量？
人們從來(lái)沒(méi)有放棄過(guò)追求幸福。他們?yōu)榱双@得更愜意的生活而努力工作；他們?yōu)榱松眢w健康而堅(jiān)持晨練；他們?yōu)榱朔潘删o張的神經(jīng)而去度假……
可是不管怎樣，全世界的幸福必然要比個(gè)人的幸福重要。 讓整個(gè)世界充滿愛(ài)是我們每個(gè)人的責(zé)任。
事實(shí)上，我們已經(jīng)在努力了，我看到了越來(lái)越多的人開(kāi)始關(guān)心貧窮的人，許多希望工程和慈善基金如雨后春筍。
我夢(mèng)想著有一天當(dāng)一個(gè)老人摔倒在馬路中央，路人會(huì)把他扶起而不是冷漠的走開(kāi)。
我相信有一天世界的每一個(gè)角落都會(huì)充滿幸福。

Different people have different opinions. Some think yes, while others hold the opposite.
It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and live a life of comfort and security. However, it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress. It is a common view that "money is the root of all evil." The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. In
some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable.So, money does not
necessarily mean happiness. It all depends on how it is used. If we make honest and sensible use of money, it can be a
stepping-stone to happiness l Although money cannot buy happiness, it can make
happiness possible if it is employed sensibly.
