2. Ask the students to report their parnters' activities in summer holidays.
Step 2 Fast Reading
Ask the students to read the passage on page 2 very quickly and find out what Charlie did in the summer holidays. Check their answers very quickly.
Step 3 True or False Questions
Well, please stop your practice. Next let's listen to the tape. Listen and get ready for this question. "Did the two boys know each other before?" (Play the tape and get the students listen to the tape with their books closed.) ...
Well, let's stop here. Who knows the answer?
Ss: No. They didn't know each other before.

Step 4 Asking and answering
Now listen and get ready for the following questions. Let's see who can catch the answer. (Play the tape again.)
After listening, check their answers.
No.1 Which school was Harry at last year? (Centre School)
No.2 Whose friend is Bob White? Which school was he at last year? (Bill's. Centre School.)
No.3 Did Bill know Harry before? (No. They meet for the first time.)
No.4 What did Bill and Harry say to end their dialogue? (Well, it's getting late. I must be off now. Nice meeting you.) Give them help if necessary.
Step 5 Acting
Ask the students to practice the dialogue, or practice their own dialogues.
Two minutes later, get some pairs practice their dialogues in the front.
Repeat Steps 4-6 to teach the second dialogue. Point out "I will/want to introduce you."
