fur與leather
fur指皮毛，尤指帶毛的皮革制品，leather指皮革制品。
endanger v. 威脅
die of與die from
都譯為“死于…”，當“死于疾病”時可以互換，但die of更強調(diào)由于年齡，寒冷，饑餓，情感等死亡，die from強調(diào)由于環(huán)境，傷害，事故等死亡。
如：
The old lady died of old age.
Careless drivers often die from traffic accidents.
lead v. 領(lǐng)導
leader與leadership
leader指領(lǐng)導人，領(lǐng)袖或帶頭的人，而leadership指領(lǐng)導，領(lǐng)導權(quán)等。
如：
Our leaders are very considerate.
Under his leadership, the company went out of depression.
tour v. 旅行 n. 旅行
species （pl.）n. 生物，物種
measure v. 測量 n. 尺寸
take measures to do sth.
habitat n. 棲息地
inhabit v. 居住在
inhabitant n. 居民
reside v. 居住
resident n. 居民
adapt v. 適應(yīng)，符合

adopt v. 收養(yǎng)，采納
original a. 原始的，起初的

at present，for the moment，for the time being與now
前三個詞組譯為“目前”，而now譯為“現(xiàn)在”，前面三個是與將來相對而言的，而now是與過去相對而言的。
如：
I don’t have money at present/for the moment/for the time being, besides which I must borrow more from you.
We can’t discuss it at present . We can leave it to be discussed sometime next week.

注意此句中find out的賓語是more，
find that…與find out that…，find that… 是偶然發(fā)現(xiàn)…，而find out that…是通過一番努力有目的地發(fā)現(xiàn)…
如：
He found/realized that his wallet was lost .
The scientists finally found out that it was the sun that is the center of the solar system.
…ecosystem must be very careful with these valuable resources.

distinct譯為明顯的，不同的，extinct譯為滅絕的，熄滅的

the species that are lost… 定語從句中先行詞做從句主語時，遇到that/which/who + be + done / adj./ prep./ adv./ doing時，that / which / who + be可一起省略。
