Could you…? Could you please…?請(qǐng)您……好嗎?
Could I please…?我可以……嗎?本句型用于請(qǐng)求允許做某事,語(yǔ)氣較婉轉(zhuǎn)、客氣。其中句中含有some, something,不必變?yōu)閍ny, anything。如:
Could I ask you some questions?
我可以問(wèn)你一些問(wèn)題嗎?
Would you like something to eat?
你想要一些吃的東西嗎?
Will you please give me a glass of water?
你可以給我一杯水嗎?

appear在這作不及物動(dòng)詞,“出現(xiàn),呈現(xiàn)”
She didn’t appear.

appear也可作系動(dòng)詞,意為“似乎,看來(lái),顯得”含義近似seem.
appear to do sth.
如:He appeared to be friendly to me.
他似乎顯得對(duì)我很友好。

似乎只有一個(gè)房間。
appear + adj(形容詞)
You appeared all right when I left.
我離開(kāi)時(shí),你看起來(lái)不錯(cuò)。

如:It appeared that I was wrong.
看起來(lái)是我錯(cuò)了。

take the place of…“代替……”“取代……”

機(jī)器人能做很多種工作。

(2)work“工作”不可數(shù)名詞
It’s hard work.
它是一項(xiàng)艱苦的工作。

在這個(gè)鎮(zhèn)上我不能找到工作。
(3)work“工作”動(dòng)詞
I work in a hospital.
我在一所醫(yī)院里工作。
The kitchen fan doesn’t work.
廚房風(fēng)扇不工作了。廚房風(fēng)扇壞了。

1. I saw a UFO while I was walking down the street yesterday.
昨天我在大街上走時(shí),看到了飛碟。
while與when
while連詞“當(dāng)……時(shí)候”,“和……同時(shí)”引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句。
一般指一段時(shí)間,從句與主句的謂語(yǔ)所表示的動(dòng)作一般同時(shí)發(fā)生。
如:Please be quiet while I’m speaking to you.
在我對(duì)你們講話時(shí),請(qǐng)安靜。
when既可指一個(gè)時(shí)間點(diǎn),也可指一段時(shí)間,從句與主句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞所表示的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)可以同時(shí)發(fā)生,也可以一先一后分別發(fā)生。如:
I was watching TV when the telephone rang.
當(dāng)電話響時(shí)我正在看電視。
When I got to the station, the train had left.
當(dāng)我到達(dá)車站時(shí),火車已經(jīng)離開(kāi)了。

我深信有不明飛行物存在。
(1)be sure of(about)…對(duì)……有把握
Are you sure about it?
你對(duì)此有把握嗎?
I’m sure of myself.
我對(duì)自己有把握。
(2)be sure to do一定會(huì)干
He is sure to win the game.
他一定會(huì)贏得比賽。
They are sure to come early.
他們一定會(huì)早來(lái)的。
(3)be sure that引導(dǎo)從句,其中that可省略。相信……
I’m sure they will win the game.
我相信他們會(huì)贏得這場(chǎng)比賽。
I’m sure he will come.
我相信他會(huì)來(lái)。
(4)be(not)sure + whether / if引導(dǎo)從句(不)確信是否……
I’m not sure whether they can come or not.
我不能肯定他們是否會(huì)來(lái)。
I’m not sure if there are UFOs.
我不能肯定是否有不明飛行物。
