Teaching Procedures:
Ⅰ. Showing aims:
1. Master some useful expressions.
2. Learn the Present Perfect Tense.
3. To make some dialogues freely with the Object Clause.
Ⅱ. Revision
Revise The Present Perfect Tense.. Ask the Ss some questions like: Have you ever been to Shanghai? How many times have you been to the zoo? Get the Ss to answer the questions correctly, then Ss practise “ ask and answer” in pairs, using The Present Perfect Tense, and choose several pairs to perform their dialogues.
Revise how to make a telephone call. Ask the Ss what they will sya in the phone call, help the Ss tp answer with “ Hello. “ “ Could I speak to…?” “ This is …speaking.” “ Who is that?” Write them on the BB.
Ⅲ.Presentation
Take out two telephone sets, make a ltelephone call with the students. Ask one of the SS answer the phone.
T: Could I speak to…?
S: I’m sorry she is out/isn’t in. May I help you?
T: That’s very kind of you. I hope to see her on Friday. Can you take a message for me?
S: Certainly.
T: Many thanks. Bye.
S: It’s a pleasure.
Have the Ss practise in pairs, make sure they can make the dialogue freely.
Ⅳ. Listen, read and act
Part 1. Speech cassette. Play the tape for the ss to listen and repeat. Ask the ss to read the dialogue in pairs. Then read the dialogue individually again and find the answers to the questions:
Read through the dialogue with the SS. Ask and answer in pairs. Then make similar dialogues in pairs, using the phrases in the box of the book..
Ⅴ.Presentation:
Play games: “ Polly says” the teacher says sentence, then asks one student to repeat it, begin with Polly says…
T: I want to see him.
S: Polly says that he wants to see him.
T: I was a teacher in 1990.
S: Polly said that he was a teacher in 1990.
T: I will go to Xi an tomorrow.
S: Polly said that he would go to Xi an the next day.
Explain the Object Clause, get the ss to understand it.
Do Ex 2 in the WB to help the Ss understand the grammar easily.
Ⅵ. Practice:
Get the Ss work in pairs to practise the Object Clause, Then play the chain game.

Say sentences as many as possible, and make sure the ss can ask and answer correctly.Then, have the Ss write down two of the sentences.
Part 2. Talk about the dialogue of Part 1. Get the Ss to work in pairs.

Lesson 14
Properties: Recorder, overhead projector; pictures and some real objects
Language focus:
Useful expressions: more than two years; practise speaking English; the Greens; none of them; keep doing sth; fall fast asleep; awake; wake up; last long /last a long time.
Teaching Procedures:
Ⅰ. Showing aims:
1. Master some useful expressions.
2. Read the passage, try to do some reading comprehension.
3. To know sth about Mount Emei and some other mounts in China.
Ⅱ. Revision:
1.Check homework.
Revise the Object Clause. Get the Ss to play chain game : “ What did I say?” Have the SS do it in groups of three.
Rrevise Part 1 of L 13. Have the ss act it out.
Ⅲ. Pre-read
Part 1. In small groups, get the Ss to discuss the questions.
Get the Ss ask and answer in pairs.
Put up a map of China on the BB and get the SS to show Mount Emei and other mounts such as Mount Hua, and talk about some mounts if they know them.
Ⅳ.Presentation
Have the ss discuss in groups. Ask : “ What will they do if they go traveling?” A few minutes for them to discuss, then ask some of the SS to give their reports to share with the class.
Get the ss to talk about the pictures and speak out their own experience.
Ⅴ.Read.
Part 2. Speech cassette. Books closed. Play the tape for the Ss to listen and find the answers to the questions, check the answers with the whole class. Help the Ss understand the passage easily.
Help the Ss use three words: happy; exciting… see if the Ss can guess the meaning of the new words.
Then play the tape again for the Ss to repeat.
Ask the SS to listen carefully. Then stop the tape while the SS are listening, and ask them to go on reading. It can test the SS’ abilities to follow the passage as it is read on the tape.
Read the passage individually and find the answers to following questions:
Discuss the questions in pairs. Then ask and answer.
Using Ex1 in the WB of L 14, check the SS’ reading. The SS ask and answer in pairs.
Ⅵ. Acting:
Divide the SS into small groups. Change this passage into a play, ask them to act it out. One of them plays the part of a narrator. The others play Mr Green; Mrs Green, Jim the conductor, and the fruit assistant.
Ⅸ. Workbook:
1.Do Exx 3 orally in class. Have the Ss read the dialogue in pairs, then check in class.
2.Do Exx 2 as homework.

Lesson 15.
Properties: Recorder, overhead projector; pictures and some real objects

Useful expressions: on a trip; have a football match; What a pity; How interesting! Have a good time. Take photos.

Ⅰ. Showing aims:
1.Master some useful expressions.
2.Go on learning the grammar: the use of “that” in the Object Clause.
3.To learn the dialogue and act it out.
Ⅱ. Revision:
1.Check homework;
2.Revise the passage of Lesson 14. First get the Ss to ask and answer some questions about the passage, see if they can understand the passage correctly. Get one of them to retell it.
Ⅲ.Presentation1:
Present this dialogue:
T: What did you do yesterday?
S: We had a football match. What about you?
T: We were on a train. We came back from Mount Emei.
S: Really? How exciting! I’ve never been there. How did you get there?
T: By train. We went there by train.
S: Did you have a good time ?
T: Yes, it’s very nice.
S: Did you take any photos?
T: Of course.
Show the dialogue on a slide and ask the SS to read it in pairs.
Give them a few seconds to practise the dialogue in pairs. ask several pair to perform the dialogue for the class.
Ⅳ. Read and act:
Part 1. Speech cassette. Play the tape for the Ss to listen and repeat. Then in pairs, have the Ss read and act the dialogue, ask several pair to perform the dialogue for the class. Ask: What did Lin Tao say? See if the ss can answer correctly
Book open. Play the tape again, and get the Ss to repeat after the tape. Have the Ss do Ex1.in the WB to help them understand the dialogue and help them master the Object Clause.
Ⅴ.Practice :
Part 2. Have the Ss practise the dialogue in pairs, then ask some SS to act them out in class.
ⅥWorkbook:
1.Do Exx 3 orally with the whole class. First have the ss to do it individually, then check the answers in class.
2.Do Exx 2 as homework., then write down the sentences.

4. Go through Checkpoint4.
5. Write a short passage to train the SS’ writing abilities.
Ⅱ. Revision:
1.Check homework.
2.Revise the useful expressions, give out some useful expressions, have the Ss make sentences with the useful expressions: as soon as possible, That would be fine. Keep doing sth; Hurry up; Fall fast asleep; wake up;
Make sure the Ss can ask and answer correctly.
3. Revise the Object Clause, have the Ss play the chain games.
Ⅲ.Listen
Listening cassette. Go through the Ex1 in WB with the Ss. Play the tape for the ss to listen and finish Ex 1 in WB . Play the tape again, Get the SS to check their answers. Then check with the whole class.
Ⅳ.Practice:
Part 2. Ask and answer in pairs with the help of the table in the book. Then pass the passage on to the SS next to them, see if the student is doing well in the Object Clause.
Ⅴ. Write:
According to Part 4. we can fill in the form in class. Get the ss to give out their ideas about travelling.
Ⅵ.Game:
Have one of the SS to say a sentence, and he can’t let all the Ss hear clearly, then one student may say: I can’t hear him, call out another student to repeat his sentence: He said that… Then keep going on the game.
Ⅶ. Checkpoint 4.
Go through Checkpoint 3 with the Ss. Solve any problems that the Ss may have. Make sentences with the useful expressions, and make sure that the Ss can use them freely. Get the Ss to go over the grammar notes. Make sentences with the Object Clause.
Ⅷ. Workbook:
1. Do Exx 2 orally in class. Do it in Ex book. Pay attention to the stress.
2. Do Exx 3 with the Ss in class. Practise the dialogue in pairs
