        1.at present=at the present time=now

        2.alive,living

        ①alive 通常作表語(yǔ),后置定語(yǔ)和賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ),living作表語(yǔ)和前置定語(yǔ)。

        The fish is still alive(=The fish is still living)作表語(yǔ)。

        Who is the greatest man a live(=Who is the greatest living man.)在世的人中,誰(shuí)最偉大?作定語(yǔ)。

        而且這些表語(yǔ)形容詞有些不能和very連用,不能說(shuō)very awake 而應(yīng)說(shuō) wide awake;不說(shuō) very asleep 而說(shuō) fast asleep;不說(shuō)very alone 而說(shuō) very much alone或all alone。另 外不以a開(kāi)頭的表語(yǔ)形容詞有: glad、ill。

        3.deer為單復(fù)數(shù)同形的詞,類似的有(fish,sheep,Chinese,Japanese,aircraft)

        4.year by year. 逐年.類似的有day by day,one by one,step by step(逐步) year by year 強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的變化,另一類似短語(yǔ)year after year強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的重復(fù)。

        5.common和usual

        common意為因常見(jiàn)而普通,或不足為奇的,反義詞為rare.引申為共同的,同有的。

        Usual 意為一貫如此的,或習(xí)慣性的。
