一、Revision:
1) I have read the book. So has he.(他也讀了這本書)
2) Tom speaks Chinese, so does his sister.(他姐姐也說英語)

二、如果主語的情況是兩種,而不是單純的一種情況,
句型用 so it is/was with sb.
1)―Mary is bright and studies very hard.
―So it is with Jane. V (Jane也是這樣,既聰明又好學(xué))
So is Jane. ×
So does Jane. ×
2) Marx was born in Germany and German was his native language. So it was with Engles.
3) John likes Chinese but he is not good at it. So it is with Mary.(瑪麗也是這樣)
三、另外一種句式
so+主語+謂語(情態(tài)動詞/助動詞/連系動詞)表示同意或認(rèn)可前面所述內(nèi)容,漢語意思是“的確如此”、“確實(shí)是這樣”。
1)―Jack is a hard-working boy.
―so he is.
2)―Jack works hard.“的確這樣”
―so he does.
3)―He can do well.
―so he can.
4)―The flower is beautiful.
―so it is.
四、I hope you are very well.
1.
I hope that you can help me with my maths.
≠I hope you to help me with my maths.
lg: We hope to see you again.
=we hope that we can see you again.
He speaks English well.
He feels well. He is well. (身體健康)
He is good. ×
3 .It’s time for…=It’s time to do…(該做……的時候了)
It’s time for class/lunch.
=It’s time to have class./to have lunch.
①It was raining, but the farmers went on working in the fields.
天在下雨,但農(nóng)民們還在田里不停地勞動。
②After we finished the exercise one, we went on to do the exercise two.
③After a rest, they went on with the work.
休息以后,他們繼續(xù)勞動。
5.by 通過,靠,用

In the past people had to study by the light of candle.
6.Although
用了 although 不能用 but
Although she was tired, she went on working.
=She was tired, but she went on working.
