        Content: Learn the names for family member and practice introducing family member.

        Teaching aid: chalk blackboard tape

        Demands: Let students recognize specific vocabulary words for family members and can introduce them.

        Words: father mother sister brother parents friend grandmother grandfather grandparents

        Sentences: This is........... . That is........... .

        These are....... . Those are....... .

        Teaching steps:

        1. Start by asking students to point to each word and to repeat it after me .(Help students with any pronunciation problems they may have .)

        2. After they have said the words , ask students to guess which person in the picture each word refers to. (Let students work on this in pairs before reviewing the answers with the whole class.)

        3. Point to the family members in the illustration and ask students to name each one.

        4. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.

        5. Play the recording a second time. This time ask students to listen to the conversation and circle the appropriate family members in the illustration as they are mentioned.

        6. Tell students that they will be talking about the members of Dave's family shown in the picture.

        7. Ask students to take turns holding up their books, pointing to people and identifying family members as the class watches and listens.

        The analysis after class: Many students find it's hard to read and write the word "parents". And it's difficult to differentiate the sentences between "That is...… .." and "Those are.....".
