Teaching Procedures :
Step I : Greeting
Greet the whole class as usual /
Step II : Preparation for listening
( Teacher hangs a picture of a car on the Bb or draw a picture of a car on the Bb , Then lets Ss to revise the names of different parts .)
T : Now look at the picture of a car . I point to its different parts , Please tell me its different names in English .
( Teacher points to its doors , lights , wheels , windows , back seats , front seats and the clock one by one , After that , teacher begins to say the following .)
T : Today we are going to hear about someone who wants to buy a new jeep , Now please turn to page 132.
Step III . Listening ;
T : Pease look at the background at the top of the page first ( Teacher reads the background aloud to the Ss .)
T : Look at the demand , No . 1.
( After a few seconds , teacher begins to play the tape and say the following .)
Please listen to the tape carefully .
Listening materials :
Jackie : What was the jeep like ?
Yang Pei : Very cheap ! It 's second hand , it 's about twelve years old and it' s not very good .
It' s been on a sheep farm for the past seven years , There are a lot of things wrong with it .
Jackie : Tell me more .
Yang Pei : First of all , one of the front lights doesn't work and the driver' s window is broken.
Jackie : Anything else ?
Yang Pei : Yes ,one of the back seats is broken .
Jackie : Is that all ?
Yang Pei : No , the clock doesn't work , You can' t lock the driver' s door , And there ' s a lot of smoke coming out of the back of the jeep .
Jackie : I think it would cost a lot of money to put that right .
Yang Pei : What do you think I should do ?
Jackie : What do you think ?
Yang Pei : I think I'll forget it . I' m sure I can find a better jeep somewhere .
T : OK .Now please do exercise 1. First do it by yourselves , then you can discuss it in pairs ,
( After a while , teacher says the following .)
T : Now listen to the tape again . This time you should pay attention to the detailed information After that , you can do exercises 2 and 3.
( Teacher plays the tape again . After that teacher goes ,among the Ss to check their answers , At last teacher checks the answers with the whole class . If there are any answers that the Ss are not sure about , teacher may play the tape again .)
Step IV . Checkpoint .
T : That' s all for listening . Yesterday we learned the future passive . Who remembers its form ? ( Teacher asks one student to say its form and write it on the blackboard , then tells Ss the following .)
T : Let' s do some more exercises . Look at the sentences on the screen.
( Show the following on the blackboard .)
Change . the sentences into the future passive .
1. Where will the company build the factory ?
2. The company will not sell the cars in other countries .
3. Other companies will supply certain parts of the car .
4. Will the company give the workers new houses ?
5. The company won' t make new buses in the factory .
( Ask Ss to think them over for a while then check the answers with the whole class .

( After that , teacher Show the following phrases on the screen to review their meanings .)

T : Do you know these phrases ? What do they mean ?
( Ask s some students to say their meanings . In particular , emphasizes " spend --- on sth / ( in ) doing sth ," If time permits , teacher may ask Ss to make up some sentences with these phrases .)

T : Open your books , Please turn to page 24. Look at No 2. You may count how many blanks there are and how many words there are at the top ,

T : OK . Read the passage first , then complete the sentences with the right words .
( After that . teacher goes among the Ss ,to check their fillings . After a while , teacher says the following .)
T : Have you finished it ? Let ' s deal with it together.
