（二）“除……以外”講解及練習
當我們要表示“從整體里減去一部分”，常用except和but。except的含意是因為“所說的道理或事實不能適用于那部分”，著重于“排除在外”。
but多用在序數(shù)詞、all、none、who以及由every-，any-，no-詞綴構成的復合詞如everything，anywhere，nobody等之后，

表示“除了甲做了某事外，乙也做了某事”， 即“除……以外，另外還有……”時，要用 besides。著重“另外還有”。
